prospective bride. Lamance is the son of Rev. and Mrs.
H.A. Lamance of Denison, Tex. Miss Rainey will
graduate from Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth
next month. Her fiance is employed by Katy Railroad in
Denison.

A program designed to
supply ideas for holiday
■ foods, as well as clever ways
of packaging them for gifts,
is on tap for those attending
the next meeting of Burleson
Preschool PTA.
The meeting will be held
at Kingswood United Meth-
odist Church, 335 SW Tho-
mas, at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 17.
Mrs. Jimmy Jamison,
home economist for Texas
Electric Service Company,
will present a program pro-
viding fresh ideas for the
holidays. All interested lad-
ies as well as members are
encouraged to attend.
Members of the organiza-
tion have decided to sell
two-year, pocket calendars
as a money making project.
They provide space for per-
tinent information, a scratch
pad and serve as a daily,
social engagement reminder.
They may be purchased
from any Preschool PTA
member.
A nursery will be provided
for children of mothers at-
tending the meeting. The fee
is $1 per mother regardless
of the number of children.
More information may be
obtained by calling Mrs.
Sharon Sebring at 295-2469.
A Chrysanthemum tea
will be given on Nov. 13. in
celebration of the 30th anniv-
ersary of Burleson Garden
Club.
To be given in honor of the
club’s past presidents, the
come and go tea will be held
from 1 until 4 p.m. in
Burleson Public Library.
Donations for the library
will also be taken that day.
Refreshments will be serv-
ed by club members, who
will display floral arrange-
ments in various locations oi
the library.
BIRTHDAY BOY-Richard
Coleman Cruze, son of Mr.
and Mrs. D.C. Cruze, Rt. 1,
Joshua, celebrated his first
birthday at a party in his
home on Nov. 7. Those
attending included his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
R.E. Fiscus of Burleson and
Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Cruze of
Joshua. Also present were
Mr. and Mrs. M.A. McElroy,
Paula, Jerry and Kathy of
Joshua; Mrs. Nancy Jones,
Tammara and Cody, also of
Joshua, and Angela Johnson
of Burleson.
At the most recent meet-
ing of the group, the execu-
tive committee expressed
appreciation to those who
have worked in the conces-
sion stands and those who
have supported the club by
attending meetings.

Donna Shepherd, sister of
the bride of Burleson. Others
attending the bride were
Miss Toni Douglas and Mrs.
Judy Wesson, both also of
Burleson.
Curtis Wendland of Burle-
son was best man and
Johnnie Simmons of Alvar-
ado and David Wesson of
Burleson were groomsmen.
Seating the guests were
David Shepherd of Burleson
and Bodie Robinson of Ever-
man.
Steven Wesson of Burle-
son was ring bearer and
Angela Wesson and Becky
Wuistinger, both of Burle-
son, were candle lighters.
A reception was given in
the Fellowship Hall of the
church following the cer-
mony.
Both the bride and her
husband are Burleson High
School graduates. She finish-
ed in 1976 and he in 1975.
Following a short wedding
trip the newlyweds are
living at 244 N.E. Moody.

carried out by Mrs. Peterson
in the table appointments.
Multi-colored leaves were
used in the centerpiece. She
used her artistic talent in
icing the cake with miniature
leaves the same colors as
those in the centerpiece.
Punch and nuts were
served with the cake.
Thanksgiving feast in the
home of Mrs. Lolly Ellis on
Nov. 13. The social commit-
tee will sponsor the occasion
for members and their
spouses.
The regular business
meeting on Nov. 16 will be in
the home of Mrs. Anne Beck,
following a “Mother’s
March” meeting and film to
be held by a co-ordinator
from Fort Worth.
Locdl organizations are
urged to send a representa-
tive to the meeting. All
interested individuals may
call Mrs. Pettit at 295-1059
for details.
Mrs. Helen Matthews was
co-hostess for the evening
and Mrs. Pettit won the
surprise gift.

A reception commemorating their golden wedding
anniversary will be given for Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Jewett
of Burleson on Sunday, Nov. 21.
The home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
James Moore, Rt. 2, Burleson, will be the scene for the
celebration.
Also hosting the occasion, from 2 until 5 p.m., will be their
daughter, Doris Jewett, and two sons and daughters-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jewett and Mr. and Mrs. David Jewett, all
of Burleson.
Married Nov. 27, 1926, in Memphis, Tex., the couple has
lived in Tarrant and Johnson Counties since that time. They
have ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The couple attends Southwest Assembly of God Church in
the Bethesda Community.
Friends of the honorees are invited to attend the
reception.

Kristi Loree Landers, the
first daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Landers, Rt. 1,
Burleson, was born Nov. 1 in
Harris Hospital in Fort
Worth.
She weighed seven
pounds, seven ounces and
was 19 inches long.
Among those welcoming
her arrival are two brothers,
Kevin and Kurt.
Grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Mervin Beckwith and
Clovis Landers, all of Burle-
son, and Mrs. Monroe Davis
of Springtown.
Mrs. Edna Hardgrove of
Burleson and Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Beckwith of McDon-
ough, N.Y., are great grand-
parents of the little miss.

an art review of each accom-
plishment was given.
First places were awarded
to Mrs. Nancy Young for
expertise and Mrs. Marion
Gregory for enthusiasm.
It was announced that the
November social will be a

pie, cookies, chips, soft
drinks and coffee.

Omega Delta chapter of Beta ship told what the sorority
Sigma Phi came to a close
the evening of Nov. 2 when a
pledge ritual was conducted
in the Joshua home of Mrs.
Myra Wood.
Mrs. Wood conducted the
candlelight rituals for Mmes.
Lynda Moore, Marion Gre-
gory, Trisha Campbell, Bet-
ty Cleveland and Judy Kel-
ler.

weth, Linda Plumhoff and
Connie Cranford.
A transfer ritual was held
for. Mrs. Kay Yoder at the
conclusion of the pledge

The six new members of
the chapter were presented

charms significant of their
ritual along with pledge pins.

was held previously in the
home of Mrs. Maggie Hogue.

were used at both events as
table centerpieces.

Named Kristina Louise,

Demonstrations on mac-
rame, chalking, seed art,

Christmas decorations and
several other crafts will be
given continously during the
day by local artists.
Crafts, baked goods, cann-
ed goods, handwork, pot
plants, Christmas decora-
tions and mlny other items
will be displayed and sold by
home demonstration club
members.

from the Home Deimmstra-
tion Councils SnacK Bar,

Monday Night
Fund raising events-pro-
ceeds of which will be used
to help students have a good,
school board approved trip--
will be discussed at the next
meeting of Burleson Band
Boosters.
Parents of all band stu-
dents are encouraged to be
on hand for the meeting at 8
p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, in the
Student Center at Burleson
High School.
A current treasurer’s, re-
port will be given.
Plans for selling calendars
will be discussed and iron-on
Band Booster emblems will
be sold at the meeting for $2
each.
Also available for pur-
chase will be food items not
used in the concession stands
during the football season.
Among items expected to be
offered for sale will be pop
