After its formation as the Min-
eota Boys’ 4-H Club, the new
group chose John Lewis as their
president for 1972. Other officers
elected were Tommy Crawford,
vice president; Michael Thomas,
secretary; Danny Shinn, treasu-
rer; Jim Stanley, reporter; and
Dwight Thomas, County Council
Delegate.
Wood County Agent Johnny
Cates spoke to the Mineola boys
on various projects available to
them through 4-H.

Rather than looking for pieces
that match or date from the
same historical period, the eclec-
tic enthusiast simply chooses
furniture pieces that she likes,
regardless of style.
“Mixing furniture styles, and
accessories can be exciting and
satisfying," Miss Bradshaw
claimed- “You may mix natural
materials with new, man - made
products; combine wood-toned
furniture with painted, colored
finishes; and antiques with mo-
dem pieces- Well-designed pieces

"Modem furniture takes on a
special excitement when you add
a Chippendale sofa for contrast,”
she said. “When you begin choos-
ing home, furnishings”for an ec-
lectic look, first decide what
appeals to you and then collect
it- Your own personal taste will
unify the design elements. When
you pick items you like, you’ll
find that they share certain sim-
ilarities”
' According to the specialist, col-
lections should be placed with
regard to their decorative value
and shown in arrangements that
agree with a room's design and
mood.
“No room should look like a
museum. Table cabinets and
built-in or free-standing cabinets
may shelve rarities and walls
may display certain types of
collector's items. But don’t over-
— co by . using too many accessor-
ies,” said the home furnishings
specialist. *
A rdorn’^ most important fea-
ture is unity within the living
space- To achieve unity, a room
needs continuity or harmony,
Miss Bradshaw said- An easy
way to accomplish untfy is to
use a single color or different
values and intensities of the
same color in a room.
•"Another wayJs. to. use repeti-
tion of certain ielements,” she
said. "For example, use the

Kuf every time you plan on putting
money into your savings, you end up

You kno^, that’s just the theory
behind the Payroll Savings Plan.
You sign up where you work, and they
