taking care to leave enough of the

tomato pulp and chopped nuts. Add
enough mayonnaise to moisten well.
This mixture should be seasoned to
taste with salt and a little cayenne

tomato. Other popular fillings f. i

What can be more pleasing to the
eye than a plate containing an at-
tractively arranged, fresh, crisp, col
orful salad. A well-made salad will
tempt almost any jaded appetite. ’
A salad is neither an
nor a luxury; it is a definite f od
and fillsw a definite need. It intro- i
duces minerals and vitamins into the'
diet by the use of fruits and vegetab- i

In making salads there are a few
simple rules which insure success.'
First, have ingredients as cold as1
possible, and all juicy or canned ■
fruits and vegetables well drained, i
Second, vary the salad dressing to!
see that is is well seasoned. Third, |
give some thought to adapting the!
salad to the remainder of the meal.'
Fourth, serve the salad immediate-
ly after mixing while it is still crisp.1
Exceptions to this rule are pota- j
to, chicken or a meat salad which is j
marinated and allowed
an hour.
