Meeting Slated
The annual membership meet-
ing of the Pine Ridge Water Cor-
poration will be held at 7 o’clock
Saturday night, Jan. 29, in the
Providence Community Center.
At the meeting; a financial re-
port for 1971 will be given, and
officers for 1972 will be elected
AH members of the Pine Ridge
water system are welcome to
attend the meeting.

led as Noble Grand of the Min-
eola Rebekah Lodge 220,.during
an impressive ceremony at t h e
local Lodge Hall on Thursday
night, January 20-
. The Hall, at 124 North John-
son Street, was beautifully decor-
ated with yellow roses- Arose
tree, flanked by silver candela-
bra, formed the centerpiece '’for
the serving table.
After a brief business session,
Mrs- Thelma Byrum, Deputy
President of District 38, along
with her staff of officers from
Tyler Rebekah Lodge 142, con-
ducted the installation service.

tion Council was held on Friday
afternoon, Jan- 21, in the Arnold
Holley Hall in Quitman.

in singing, then the Club Motto
and Prayer were- repeated.

became -the bride of Joe Mac
King in a formal ceremony at
two o’clock, in the afternoon on
Saturday, January 8,' in the First
Methodist Church of'Mineola-.
The Rev- Faulk Landrum of
Athens, brother-in-law of the
bridegroom, officiated for the
ceremony. Wedding music was
provided by organist Mrs. Char-
les Puckett, aunt of the bride,
and Mrs- Arthur Judge, soloist.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a formal
gown of white peau de soie de-
signed with stand-up collar and
fitted bodice Appliques of lace
and re-embroidered seed pearls
decorated the lace-cuffed bishop
sleeves and the bodice. A chapel
train fell from a bow at the
waistline at the back. T^e bride's
veil of illusion, shoulder-length,
was held by a bandeau of cloth
flowers
The bride’s bououet of pink
carnations was centered with a
camellia.
Mrs. Linda Standley of Dallas
was matron of -honor, and Miss
Chris DeLorenzo' of Houston
was maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were Misses Vai Gibson of Hous-
ton and Laura Jobe of Glade-
water. The honor attendants were
attired in floor-length empire
gowns of cranberry velvet, de-
signed with-bishop sleeves, and
carried pink carnation nosegays
Miss Polly Ann Puckett, cou-
sin of the bride, was flower
girl; and Chuck Puckett, anoth-
er cousin, was ringbearer.
John Moody of Mineola was
best man; Chris Johnson of
Dallas and Tommy Gopdwin and
Mike Lord, both of Fort Worth,
were groomsmen Ushers were
Mike Bellar of Sudan, M i k e
Park "and Mike Bunger of *Col-
lege Station, and Kevin Merritt,
brother of the bride, of Mineola.
Following the ceremony, a re-
ception was held in Fellowship
Hall of the church. Included in
the houseparty were'Miss Deena
Castloo of Mineola, Mrs. Eloise
Bunger of College Station, and
Misses Mary DeLorenzo and Jor-
ga Williams of Houston- The
bride’s chosen colors were used
in the decorations and on the
five-tiered’wedding cake.
