*Ovre the week end William
sand Lindy had a ball: Saturday
Hight they played baseball, Sun-
day they went to Bonham to the
show, and Sunday night they
'went to church.
Jean and Jerry Lynn went to
’Greenville Friday night. Who
did you meet, Jean?
It seems like Wylene enjoyed
'her 16th birthday Sunday. Was
it because of the birthstone ring
'Wayne gave her?
Martha Stapp was happily sur-
prised. We think it was because
iDavid Wakefield came back to
Xeonard.
Sue and James Ray were
seen in Greenville Saturday
night. Did you all enjoy the
cowboy show?
Jimmie Sue and Troy were
sseen in Sherman at the Drive
Inn Saturday night.
Gary Petty had an enjoyable
birthday party Friday night.
Gary, who were your guests?
Don Campbell and Jerry Bart-
Sett have been making their
Tegular trips to Whitewright.
Row are Edna and Jean, boys?
Danny Jackson seems to go for
those new styles in dresses. He
bought Bettye a sack dress last
week.
Sandra McCaslin and Tinker
Toney made a cute couple Fri-
day night at Gary’s party.
Patty Haynes and Charlie
Grounds seem to be the outdoor
types. They looked like they
"were having fun Sunday fishing.
Bobo and Donna are TV bugs.
Bo said they watched practically
all Sunday afternoon.
Judge was by himself Saturday
night, but only because Donna
was in West Delta.

fish and windows.
Typing Classes
The first and second year typ-
ing classes saw a film Monday.
The film gave some good tips on
typing. The narrator and dem-
onstrator was the world cham-
pion at one time. He stressed
good posture at the typewriter,
correct touch of the keys, and
correct usage of the typewriter
parts.
Seniors Decide On
Senior Trip
Friday, March 14, the Seniors
had a class meeting to decide on
their trip. There were three dif-
ferent places to choose from.
They were Washington, D. C.,
Florida and Colorado. Because
of the distance to Florida and
Washington, we decided on Colo-
rado. We plan to go to Colorado
one way and return another. All
the seniors are looking forward
to the trip, since it is one of the
main highlights of the senior
year.

FHA In Focus
The week of March 23-29 has
been decared as National FHA
Week. Since our local FHA
Chapter has voted to help make
this week a big success all over
the country, here are a few
terms and what they mean to the
members of the Future Home-
makers of America.
What is FHA? FHA stands for
Future Homemakers of America
—an incorporated, non-profit
youth organization.
Who may join FHA? Any pu-
pil enrolled in the secondary
school who is taking or has taken
a homemaking course in junior
or senior high school may be-
come a member. Membership is
voluntary.
Who sponsors FHA? The
Home Economics branch of the
Office of Education and the
American Home Economics Asso-
ciation are co-sponsors. Cooper-
ating groups are the Home Econ-
omics sections of the American
Vocaitonal Association and the
National Education Association.
What is FHA’s goal? The main
goal is learning to live better to-
day in order that the homemak-
ing pupils’ lives and those of their
families may be better tomorrow.
The FHA motto: “Toward New
Horizons.”
FHA Motto
The motto of Future Home-
makers of America expresses the
purpose of the organiztaion. The
emblem symbolizes that the fu-
ture homes of America are in the
^ands of its youth. The flower
is the red rose.
FHA Purposes
To promote:
Appreciation of the joys and.
satisfaction of homemaking.
Worthy home membership.
Democracy in home and com-
munity life.
Good home and family life for
all.
Tnternational good will.

ership in home and community
life.

FHA Creed
We are the Future Homemak-
ers of America.
We face the future with warm
courage and high hope.
For we have the clear con-
sciousness of seeking old and
precious values.
For we are the builders of
homes,
Homes for America’s future.
Homes where Living will be
the expression of everything
good and fair.
Homes where truth and love
and security and faith
Will be realities, not dreams.
We are the Future Homemak-
srs of America.
We face the future with warm
sourage and high hope.
