Mr. Cooper identified a difference
between the repentance preached by
John and that preached by Christ him-
self, saying of the former that it re-
lated more to what is now called a re-
formation, or an external repentance;
while rejo-ntawce preached by Christ

Ttie Secretary expressed the convic-
tion that the new law Will impost no
hardships on the banks and that the

accomplished with little or no incon-

should not liesilate to us- them for the
purpose of aiding the banks to comply
with the new lew and that in his opin-
ion the banks could with perfect safety
proceed with the granting of accommo-

The Secretary said that he did not,

attitude of the Treasury Department is
to be helpful and that he thought it

He said that if any banks are labor-

law will necessitate or occasion a re-
striction of credits they are controlled
by error, as no such thing will result.
