. Bulletin Number Twenty-Three, is-
sued by the Electra Chamber of
Commerce and Agriculture,
distributed among members
organization last week-end.
P. Hall, secretary-manager
chamber, is official editor
sheet and has a timely editorial in
this number in regard to the need
of steps being taken by Electra to
secure and adequately equip an air-1
port. He cites the story of Illinois
village which deteriorated when a
railroad missed the townsite by
several miles and a rival city was
-established which quickly swallow-
ed up the business formerly en-
joyed by the older town.
The recent developments of air
/travel and the attendant revolution
in plane traffic is recounted by
Mr. Hall a s having proved that
the use of airplanes has passed
|the experimental stage and the
town which fails to recognize the
fact is passing up a vital opportu-
nity. He says that Electra must
make every effort to secure an air

creasing the number of Supreme Judges from Three to
Nine. It will mean no extra cost to the people of Texas.
It is the duty of all good citizens to go to the polls
next Tuesday and vote on the various Constitutional
Amendments that are being submitted to the people of
Texas.
OFFICE
ELECTRA:

and 7 to 8 P. M.
This amendment has the endorsement of bench and
bar of this state as well as many other organizations
which favor judicial reform.
The Amendment provides for abolition of the
Court of Commission of Appeals which has six judges.
This will give official sanction to the opinions of all mem-
bers of the court and save delay in lost motions.
Dewey Hyatt and
of Springtown spent the
Mr. and Mrs.
of a
May,
publicity director of the Leonard
Picnic Committee, inviting every-
body to attend the 50th annual cele-
bration to be held at Leonard.
There will possibly be more than
one hundred people from Electra
attend the picnic and as many as
five hundred from Wichita and Wil-
barger counties. Mr. May is well
known to many people here, he is
a student in Trinity University,
Whxahachie, and son of Bob May,
editor’ of the Leonard Graphic. He
says in regard to the picnic:
“This year marks the 50th mile-
post in the history of Leonard.
Great plans are being laid by the
citizens of this place to make the
Golden Jubilee, July 17-20, one of
the greatest attractions ever held
in North Texas.
“The first day will be a replica of
the first celebration and picnic held
fifty years ago. The public is re-
quested to bring basket lunches and
a common spread will be made. Bar-
becue will be served as compliments
of the merchants. This day will be
known as the Home-Coming day
Av hen the old-timers will have the
opportunity to meet each other

That Electra’ 'citizens.,, are already

by the recent purchase of 'a’ plane
