Miss Sallee Lucille Bailey, daughter'
of Mr. and Mrs: W. H. Bailey of
"Wichita, Kansas, were married here
on June 9th, by Rev. J. W. Sharp,
Baptist minister, according to an-
nouncement made this week. Only
intimate friends have known of the
wedding. The newly-weds left im-
mediately after the ceremony for
Russellville, Ark., where they vis-
ited Mr. Eubank’s mother, Mrs. G.
• H. Crutchfield, and other relatives
there and at Dover, Ark., which is
the groom’s former home. Shortly
after their return to Electra, the
bride was called to Wichita to at-
tend the bedside of her mother, who
is still critically ill. Mrs. Eubanks
will join her husband here as soon
as her mother’s condition improves.

In Pittsburgh Recital
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Goodman and
daughter, Imogene, left this week
for Pittsburgh, Pa., where they
will spend the remainder of the
summer with Mrs. Goodman s moth-
er, Mrs. Anna Tim him. Miss Imo

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mankins, Mrs.
W. A. Sandefer and son, Eual, of
this city and Mrs. F. R. Sandefer
of Stoneberg had narrow escapes
from serious injury Saturday after-
noon about three o’clock when the
car in which they were riding col-
lided with .that of J. G. Gardner,
Sr. and family of Memphis, about
one miles east of Electra.
.. The Electra party had started to
Stoneburg to spend the week-end,
’returning with Mrs. F. R. Sande-
fer, who had been visiting rela-
tives here. Mrs. Roy Mankins suf-{
fered an injury to her knee from'
which she is reported recovering.1
Five occupants of the Gardner car
escaped without injury, but their
automobile had to be brought by
a wrecker to a local garage. Both
cars were badly damaged.
