at her home. A beautiful Christmas
tree, decorated with colored lights,
tinsel, ornaments. Santa Claus and
his reindeer added beauty as well
as color to the setting. Under the
tree was a gift for each guest.
The diving table was centered with
an attractive uutn drop Christmas
tree surrounded by candy in the
form of Santa Claus, which were
given as favors.
After games and the distribution
of gifts, lovely refreshments of
punch and Christmas cookies were
served to Sue Coston, Patricia Bai-

an Eton suit of white and navy wool

was attired in a smart two-piece
suit qf midnight blue wool. Her ac-
cessories were of harmonizing blue
. color and she wore a corsage of pink
carnations.

was best man lor the groom and
ushers and candlelighters were Joe
E. Fitts, Ringgold, brothei of the
bride, and Jene Thompson, Munday,
brother of the groom.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson were
honored at a lovely reception given
at the home of the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Roy c. Fitts. Assisting
I in the house party were Mrs. Her-
man Hawkins, Ringgold; Mrs. Farl
Fitts and Billy Miles Nocona; and
Mrs. B. M. Waters, Oklahoma City.

White and yellow chrysanthe-
mums were featured in the elabor-

The bride is a graduate of Rinu-
gold High School and Hardin Col-
lege. She w;ls a member of the
school faculty in Petrolia before she
became a member of the Valley View
faculty where she is now employed.

tive scheme: the traditional wedding

ceremony gave a muted interpreta-
tion of “To A Wild Rose." Mrs. Joe
Albert Staley sang. "My Happiness"
and "Because” with accompaniment
played by Mrs. Milam.
Elaborate Nuptial Setting
For the exchange of the wedding
vows the bride and groom stood be-
fore an altar which was arranged
against a background ot ferns and
palms. Elaborate arrangements of
white chrysanthemums, in baskets,
flanked the altar as did several
branched candelabra bearing lighted
white cathedral tapers.
The bride was gvien in marriage
by her brother. Roy C. Fitts Jr She
was lovely in a Berkley original ger-
anium pink wool gabardine suit.
The costume was complemented
.with a white crepe gold beaded
blouse, white felt hat trimmed with
white ostrich tips, and accessories
in shades of bronze. In observing the
bridal traditions the bride wore
| blue, and an heirloom geld wish-
bone pin belonging to her paterpal
j grandmother. For the borrowed

then presented two guest artists.
Miss Ruth Janeway, young pianist,
who played one movement from, "A
Norwegian Concerte,” by Edward
Grieg, showing unusual ability and
talent.
MLss Willard Hutchens read “The
Littlest Angel,” by Charles Taswell.
This was especially pleasing and ap-
propriate for the Christmas season
and Miss Hutchens gave splendid
evidence of her training and out-
standing talent in her interpreta-
tion.
The holiday spirit was further
emphasized by the beautiful Christ-
mas decorations throughout the
house.
The hostess served a lovely salad
plate to 24 members and two guests
during the social hour.
The next meeting will be Jan. 6
with Mrs. M. M. Gilbert as hostess,
when the club will hold their
nuul business meeting.

absentees, shut-ins and extension
members.
A lovely refreshment plate carry-
ing out the Yuletide theme was
served to 13 members present, then
all eyes were turned to the beauti-
fully decorated Christmas tree. An
exchange of gifts was made by
Santa Claus and each member was
delighted when her name was call-
ed.
Everyone enjoyed the true Christ-
mas spirit of the evening.
