Club Sees Film
Miss Thelma Sue Henley,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Wilburn M. Henley, Route 2,
Nocona, was recognized April
16 as a new member of the
Mortar Board at North Texas
State University.
The Mortar Board, a senior
women’s national honor so-
ciety, in which membership
cannot exceed 25 on any
campus, now has 23members.
These will be replaced by the
24 new members which in-
cludes Thelma Sue.
Miss Henley, a junior math-
ematics major, has received
a number of previous honors
at NTSU. They include being
‘69-‘7O treasurer of Alpha
Delta Pi, a national social
sorority; member of Alpha
Lambda Delta honor society,
and Student Education Associ-
ation; Delta Psi Kappa, wo-
man's professional club; Rec-
reational Association; Kappa
Delta Pl, Senior Mary Arden
for which she is serving as
second vice president, and
Alpha Chi. Thelma Sue has
also been listed on the Dean's
Honor List every semester
she has been in college.
Mrs. C. E. Frailey returned
home Monday from Shawnee,
Oklahoma after visiting her
daughter and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Guy Combs, Steven and
Michele. While there Mrs.
Frailey and Mrs. Combs at-
tended the funeral of J. S.
Roberts at Paul’s Valley,
Oklahoma Mr. Roberts was an
old friend of the Fraileys.
Mr. and Mrs. William
Arthur Fowler are at home at
907 Clay Street, Nocona fol-
lowing their wedding April 11 at
First Baptist Church, Ring-
gold. Rev. Gerald Edwards,
pastor, officiated.
Parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Farris,
Route 3, Nocona, and Mr. and
Mrs. W. C. Fowler, 103 Clark
Street, Nocona.
The altar was decorated
with an archway covered with
greenery interspersed with
tiny yellow daisies and ac-
cented with white bows. On
either side were candelabra
holding lighted tapers.
Wedding music was played
by Jane Edwards who also
accompanied Dorothy Woods
who sang “I Love You Truly”
and "Bless This House.”
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor-
length gown of white satin bro-
cade fashioned with empire
waistline and chapel trai* At-
tached at the shoulders. Her
fingertip veil of white illusion
and satin was trimmed in
lace and seed pearls. She
carried a white Bible topped
with an arrangement of white
roses and lilies - of - the -
valley.
Miss Janice Campbell of
Ringgold was maid of honor
and Miss Georgia Fowler, sis-
ter of the bridegroom, was
bridesmaid. They wore
street-length dresses of pas-
tel yellow satin designed with
a large bow at the back. Each
wore a short veil and carried
a bouquet of yellow and white
daisies.
Becky and Tammy Grant,
cousins of the bridegroom,
were flower girls. Ring bear-
er was Carl Kindsfather, nep-
hew of the bride.
Lynn Jones attended the
groom as best man.
Ushers were Mike Grover,
Bill Pennington, and Raymond
Hudson. Groomsman was Glen
Idell.
RECEPTION
For a reception held at the
church the refreshment table
was covered with white net
and lace over yellow caught
Collins is serving with the
U. S. Marine Corps and is
stationed at Camp Pendleton,
Calif.
The wedding is scheduled
July 28.

granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Gene Yarbrough and Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Evans, all residents
of Nocona.

RECEPTION
Following the wedding Mr.
and Mrs. Ulbig, parents of the
bride, were hosts for a re-
ception at the Farm Bureau
fellowship room. The tables
were laid with white lace over
blue and centered with an’
arrangement of white carna-
tions and gladioli. The five
tiered wedding cake was top-
ped with a miniature bride and
groom and served with white
frosted punch accented with
a blue ice ring.
Following a wedding trip
to Fort Worth the couple is
at home in Bridgeport where
St. John is employed with
Chapman G. M. C. as a me-
chanic. He is a graduate of
Chico High School and bride
is a graduate of Nocona High
School. She is employed in
REHEARSAL SUPPER
A rehearsal supper at Tra-
vel Inn Cafe, Bowie, was
hosted Thursday evening by
the bride’s parents. White
floral arrangements and cand-
les decorated the tables where
24 guests were seated.
Jan Lee McDaniel
Gets Superior
Rating In Piano
Jan Lee McDaniel, eleven-
year old of Mrs. Jenice Mc-
Daniel, was given a Superior
Rating on his private piano
audition in the National Piano
Playing Auditions in Wichita
Falls last Friday in the studio
of his teacher Mrs. Nettie
Baber Tittle.
He played from memory fif-
teen pieces representing all
periods of composition some
ot which were Bach, Beetho-
ven, Schubert, Gershwin, and
Lecuona.
He wasgiven an Internation-
al Membership certificate and
a gold pin. This Is Jan’S
second year to enter In the
international division. Mrs.
Merrett Johnson of Boulder,
Colorado was adjudicator for
the audition.
Jan Lee is organist for
First Baptist Church.

Hosts CWF Meet
at the corners with yellow
bows. Yellow and white dais-
ies formed the centerpiece.
The six-tiered wedding cake
was topped with a miniature
bride and groom. Golden punch
and mints were served with
cake.

Five of the Nocona club
members attended the 16th
annual Flowercade at Leon-
ards Lenwood Hall in Fort
Worth Saturday, April 25. The
Fort Worth show featured the
theme "America Sings.”
Two members attended-the
Florarama, annual Wichita
Falls flower show, Sunday af-
ternoon, April 27. “Saying
with Flowers” was the theme
featured.
Those attending the Gaines-
ville show were Mmes. O. C.
Mann, H. R. Stoker, I. H.
Copeland, R. F. Thompson,
Harvey Hill, J. D. Franklin,
Elmer McNew, and Oliver
Motley.
Those attending the Fort
Worth show were Mmes. Har-
vey Hill, H. R. Stoker, W. H.
Jackson, R. F. Thompson, and
I. H. Copeland.
Mrs. R. F. Thompson and
Mrs. I. H. Copeland also at-
tended the Wichita Falls show.

Ulbig and James St. John was
solemnized in the Catholic
Church of Montague at 7 o’-
clock Friday evening with Rev.
Paul J. Higgenbotham of Hen-
rietta reading the double ring
ceremony.
Parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. John Ulbig, Rt.
2, Nocona, and Mr. and Mrs.
J. W. St. John, Chico, Texas.
The altar was decorated
with seven branched candela-
bra and basket arrangements
of white gladioli, carnations
and greenery. A satin - cover-
ed kneeling bench completed
the altar setting.
Mrs. Charles Keck, organ-
ist, played the wedding music.

ther of the bride, attended the

was the subject of a program
for Montague Home Demon-
stration club when they met
Thursday with Mrs. Ruby
Marie Jackson.
In the absence of the lead-
er for the day, each one pre-
sent read and discussed a
place of the program. Future
Security applies to all ages.
If youth has chosen a path of
satisfaction it will be easier
to adjust when they get older.
All pleasures should not be
segregated as to age. Some
time they should have work
and fun together to have a well
rounded life.
Mrs. Stanfield showed an
interesting film on the use
of LSD and other harmful
drugs.
Mrs. Jackson, assisted by
her mother, Mrs. Bessie
Walker served a delicious re-
freshment plate to 15 members
and Mrs. Stanfield.
A social hour of visiting
was enjoyed later.

girl born April 3. She has
been named Paula Ruth. The
