Relatives and friends came from
near and far to celebrate the 9bth
birthday of Ana Begley Oldham
(Mrs. J. B. Oldham) of 210 Fan-
nin St.
The City Club House of Nocona
was the scene of the all day activ-
ities. At the noon hour a delicious
dinner was spread. Rev. Weems
Dykes offered thanks. After the
dinner the lovely birthday cakje
was presenied to Mrs. Oldham. The
■ake was baked in the form of a
ovely little old lady, typifying Mrs.
'lidham's 90 years.
Her five children with their
tisbands or wives were present.

With Family Dinner
Mr. and Mrs. S. A. McCarley
celebrated Thanksgiving day with
a delicious turkey dinner with all
the trimmings. All their children
were with them except Bill who
is working in Corpus Christi.

Book Just Released
An event of grSt interest to all
the people of Nocona and sur-
rounding territory, is the publica-
tion of a book “Beauty for Ashes'’
written by Mrs. James Daugherty.
The books were received from the
publisher by Mrs. Daugherty early
Wednesday morning.
The book is a small book size
easily carried, attractively bound
, which makes it practical for dua
(purpose, it can be carried easily
by a traveler or be a welcome edi-
tion to any library.
"Beauty for Ashes' is a

to inspire the individual who read-
it to look beyond the daily com-
monplace annoyances of life. Sec-

On Wednesday, Nov. 21st from
8 to 10 p. m., the home of Mrs,
Thurston Drake was the scene for
a lullaby tea in honor of Miss De-
borah Jane Sharp, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Warren Sharp.

in the church decorations.
Conwell Taylor, soloist, was ac-
companied by Mrs. Taylor Henley.

Since returning to San Angelo,
from a wedding trip to Nocona,
the couple are residing at 525 W.
Washington Drive.
