also. One bolt of lightening struck

last week must have found the

should have read, Mr. and Mrs.
Coy Simpson made a trip to Dallas
on Wednesday and purchased a
new 1950 Kaizer car. Then a com-
pletely different item:

Sanger, Texas to get her new set
of teeth on Friday.

Two students from Nocona were
among 35 North Texas State |
College geography students who left |
Denton July 19 on a trip which
will take them through 23 states
and parts of Canada.
Those from Nocona making the
trip are Lois and Jewell Reed.
While on the trip the group will
study the soil, climate, and en-
viromental adjustments of the
areas. They will be required to
make a written report upon their
return to Denton August 8.
Traveling by Continental Trail-
ways bus, the students are under
the supervision of Robert Miller,
instructor in the geography depart-
ment at the college.
Some stops include Memphis
and Chattanooga. Tenn., the Cott-
on Belt, the tobacco lands of North
Carolina and Virginia, Washing-
ton, D. C.. New York City and the
New England states.
After visiting Niagara Falls and
Canada, the geographers will re-
turn to Denton by way of the
dustrial districts of Chicago
Detroit.

Bro. W. W. Stephens is attending
a pastors school in Dallas. This
was a two weeks school, being held
last week and completed this

We are sorry to report Mrs. Ruth
Shipley and Butch Tucker are both
ill at this writing.
Mr. and Mrs. Noble Howard and
family from Dimmitt, Texas were
visiting Mr. Eustace Howard over
the week end.
The community party which is
held monthly at the school build-
ing was attenued by an estimated
40 or 50 peonlc Thursday night.

Mrs. Susie Taylor left Sunday
for a short visit with triends and
relatives in San Antonio and Port
Arthur.
Miss Ida Pearl Matney who has
been visiting with Mrs. Bessie
Walker for some time has return-
ed to her home in Lubbock, Texas
to resume her work.
Mr. and Mrs. George Berry had
as their guests this week end her
sister, Mrs. Bertie Goad and Billie
Wayne Davis of Wichita Falls.
Mr. Phocian Simpson of Wichita
Falls was here Saturday shaking
hands with the Old Timers and
incidentally he cast a vote.
Mr. and Mrs. Ewing Johnson of

Mr. Carl Benton has just re-
cently made a very pleasant trip
to Colorado by Zephyr. He

Montague and are making their
home one mile west of town.
Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Nix
Wichita Falls are on a leave
absence from their job at
State Hospital for a while,

Mr. Powell of Austin, Texas is
home for a few days visiting his
wife and baby, he will remain un-
til the next term is open.
Mr. Melvin Fenoglio spent the
week end with his parents,
and Mrs. Andrew Fenoglio.
Mrs. S. L. Tumbleson who has
teen in the Major Clinic for a
few days is much improved will
be home soon.
Mr. and Mrs. Loui s Holland
spent Saturday in Bellevue, each
election Day it is an old adage

Hello, folk. Sorry there has been
no news from Ringgold in the last
two papers, but I have been on my
vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. Hughes Smith and
son Charles and Mr. and Mrs.
Grayson Cochran have just return-
ed from a vacation trip through
New Mexico, Arizona and Califor-
nia. We spent most of our time in
California with relatives. Mr. and
Mrs. Cochran visited with her
brother Mr. and M. C. Lemons and
their families in Arcadia, Calif.,
while we went on to Monterey
and Pacific Grove, Calif., and
Misses Fleta and Leta Wicker of
San Jose. While at Pacific Grove
we went out to Fort Ord and
visited with Pvt. Billy Twain Garr-
I ison and on Tuesday of last week
we went on to Oakland and picked
up Woody McClain who is stat-
ioned at camp and then went on
to Fisco, we saw Alcatrezr and
rode across the Golden Gate
Bridge. We drove down the coast
from San Francisco to San Diego.
Saw some beautiful scenery and
California is really a state for
beautiful flowers. The sand dunes
in Arizona aren’t so pretty, while
the mountains there and in Mexico
are beautiful, but can’t say I like
the mountains.
But best of all to me is Good
Ole Texas, which has as much
beauty as any other place to me
We had a very enjoyable trip. We
were caught in one flash flood just
before we got to Van Horn, Texas
and it rained on us both going and
returning and made the travel so
much nicer.

and children of Ryan, Okla., visit-
ed with his mother, Mrs. J. M.
Montgomery Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker of Fort
Worth spent the week end here
with Thomas and Grandmother

Mrs. Bill Lemons returned to her
home last week from the hospital
in Wichita Falls where she was
taken after falling in Whites
Store and breaking her hip. Her
