The Whitewright Tigers ran
their winning streak to seven Fri-
day night with a 31-8 victory
over the Leonard Tigers. The
game was closer than the score
indicated as the Leonard team
had the ball in scoring position
early in the fourth quarter and
I w^ behind only 19-8. But they
lost the ball on an intercepted
pass and Whitewright came back
to score two more times.
The score at the half was 12-
0. Whitewright scored the second
time they got the ball with Full-
back Joe Hennig going in from
the one on a fourth down play.
They came back to score just be-
fore the half with Holloway tak-
ing it in from the three.
Leonard got on the scorehoard
ir^the third period. The score
was set up by a pass from Lynn
Marshall to Phil Sprinkle. Tony
Birchfield went the last five yards
on a reverse. Glen Edwards was
stopped on the try for the two
extra points.
Leonard’s other two points
came as a result of a bad snap
on a punt by Whitewright. The
kicker was dropped in his own
end zone for the safety. White-
wright scored three times in the
last half for the 31-8 victory.
Leonard goes to Celeste
search of their first win of the
season tomorrow night. Celeste is
also winless.
