The way to overcome sin
through spiritual understanding
of God, divine Love, will be set
forth at Christian Science ser-
vices Sunday.
Scriptural selections in the Les-
son-Sermon entitled “Everlast-
ing Punishment” will include
Christ Jesus’ parable (Luke 15)
of the prodigal son who “wasted
his substance with riotous liv-
ing.”
Passages to be read from
“Science and Health with Key to
the Scriptures” by Mary Baker
Eddy include the following
(242:15): “In patient dbedience
to a patient God, let us labor to
dissolve with the universal sol-
vent of Love the adamant o f
error, — self-will, self-justifica-
tion, and self-love, — which wars
against spirituality and is the
law of sin and death.”
The Golden Text is from] Eze-
kiel 18:30): “Repent, and turn
yourselves from all your trans-
gressions ; so iniquity shall not
be your ruin.”

trar. This figure exceeds last

An approximate breakdown of
the enrollment figure shows that
college men outnumber the coeds
by 364 students here.
A 671 freshman class tops the
sophomores, second largest class,
by almost 200. Other classes in-

Over-all lengths have been i
■ tended a full nine inches to
■ new measurement of 209 inches.
The wheelbase is up two and
. one-half inches to 117-%. Roof
: lines have been lowered up to
2-%. inches, yet design skill has
retained ample passenger head-
room.
In looks, the cars have an air
of liveliness. Because of the tho-
roughness of the transformation,
stylists and engineers were able
to correlate their ideas into a
single unit of bumper-to-bumper
progress.
Dual headlamps, a grille with
fine grid concave ribs and a low,
flat hood unbroken by ornamen-
tation, distinguish the frontal
view. Varied two-tone color pat-
terns, a judicious use of chrome
moldings and decorative panels
give each series an individuality
and supply the latest examples
of the industry’s new art of
“sculpturamic” styling. The rear-
ward treatmient also is unique.
Avoiding sharp fin protrusion,
rear fender lines sweep outward
from the body, then curl around
the tail light ensemble to form
a shape which stylists likened to
a graceful gull-wing in fight.
Chevrolet is quick to explain
that the longer, lower lines of
the 1958’s were not inspired alone
by a desire for beauty. The form
complements advances in chassis
engineering that promise to heigh-
ten immeasuraby driving and ri-
ding enjoyment.
Important in the broad gains
along the mechanical front is the
adoption of coil springs at the
rear wheels as a standard fixture.
Long a front-end feature on Chev-
rolets, the coils cushion shocks
far better than previous suspen-
sion systems.
As optional equipment, the com-
pany additionally pioneers in its
field a new “Level Air” suspen-
sion, employing for the first time
rubber bellows at all four wheels,
supply and exhaust system with
leveling valves, this suspension
assures precisely the same resist-
ance to shock regardless of car

Effectiveness of the 1958 Chevrolet styling is shown by this
front-rear view of the Impalas, luxury models in the Bel Air
series. The gull-wing sweep at the rear is a perfect complement
for the fleet, flowing lines that begin with the fine-grid concave
ribs of the grille. In addition to complete body redesign, the
latest Chevrolets offer such features as Level Air suspension or
all-round coil spring suspension, a more rigid frame and body and
an unusual new V8 engine. Impalas top an offering of 17 models.
