W. E. Weathers, our new football coach,
dropped in for a visit this week. He is a ra-
ther nice looking, well built man with a tinge
of red in his hair. Just out of the navy as
wants to buy a house and says he would con-
sider any house a bargain that he could buy
for twice what it is worth!
Postmaster objected to the scantily clad la-
dies displayed on its pages. The justices were
unanimous in their decision that the Post
Office had no authority to decide what was
good and what was bad for the American
people.
If you have a few spare minutes to spend,
C. D. Bailey, now a patient in the Electra
Hospital, will be glad to spend them with
you. He has a private room with magazines,
and a radio, but says that there is nothing
like having someone to talk to.

THE JUG WAR IS ON! Seems that
every city around here is flooded with those
blue picnic water jugs .... and nobody seems
to be able to sell that at the same price. One
merchant puts them in the window at $8.50
. . . another at $7.00 and still another has
them $6.95. One rubs the price off the jug
and meets comptition .. . and what the next
move will be is anybody’s guess ... but there
is one thing certain some manufacturer must
have made a million of them and put all of
them on the market at one time.

COMMENTS...
The first really post war bit of entertain-
ment came to Electra last Saturday when
fliers from Fort Worth visited us. They
came in everything from a low-powered Cub
to a swanky Sparton Executive. The one BT-
13, an ex-army ttrainer, that flew in with
the crowd and buzzed the town, probably
made more noise than the entire fleet put
together.
The aircade came at the wrong time to at-
tract the maximum amount of visitors. Most
folks were girding themselves for the Satur-
day afternoon rush when the Fort Worth
emissaries arrived. However, there were
enough Electrans on hand to take* the visitors
to town and back.
• One of the planes out at the airport, a
Laird biplane made especially for acrobatic
flight had a message from the city of Fort
Worth painted on the fuselage, but it was
upside down. It was my guess that the pilot
of the plane, “Doc” Estes was in the habit
of flying inverted close to the ground so that
the spectaors could read it. I would also say
that the trick was very non-habit forming.
