Chamber officials
Recently some claims
Medicare payments made
some of the residents of Eieetra
have |>een slowed up because
of simple errors made on the
claim form. Francis J. St* vens
Social Security represent, i’ix e
for Electra said today that the
most common error made is
that the Medicare identification
number is omitted.
Because of the great number
of claims handled by th** Group
Medical and Surgical Service,
the carrier which handles Medi-
care doctor bills for Texas, it
is almost impossible to identify
a person unless he furnishes his
ntunls'r 'Hie number slrutld be
copied exactlv from the red.
white and blue Medicare card.
Stevens said that other com-
mon errors are the omission of
signatures, addresses, or other
itefs. He said that the top half
of the claim form should be fil-
led in completely.
Stevens invited lx*ncficiari**s
who are filing for the first time
to bring their payment requests
to him for review.

Law Requires
Taxpayers To

Texas taxpayers were reminded
today’ that the law requiro-
them to list their correct social
security number on their Fede-
ral income tax return.
If husband and wife

return, the should list Iwlli
numbers in the spaces proviiled
on page 1 of tho 1966 Federal
income lax return. If tho wife
has no income, however, the
husband's number will suffice.
Ellis Campbell. Jr, District
Director of Internal Revenue
for northern Texas, said that
omission of the ntimlw.*r, or en-

delays the processing of their

Thc school trustee election
on Saturday, April 1, will be
held in the high school cafeteria
rather than the school tax
office as previously announced.
A change was necessary due
to the fact that the school tax
office is also used as the office
to sell automobile license plates.
Officials believe the move will
enable both functions to oficrate
with greater efficiency.
“Response by the people
I Electra to the Easter Seal

eouraging,” Robert White, Eas-
ter Seal chairman, said.
“It is still too parly,'’ he ex-
plained, “to report how much
money has been contributed tn
the Easter .Seal appeal which
is the primary source of support
for tho North Texas Rehabili-
tation Center in Wichita Falls.”
Easter Seal env’clojvs arriv-
ed at some 500 Electra residen-
ces earlier this week and the
mail-in contributions are still
coming in. ho said.
Preliminary indications
that this year's campaign will
l>e successful B**cause of the
dedication of volunteers and the
generosity of contributors, it
will lx* }x>ssible for tho rehabili-
tation center to continue its
program of physical, occupa-
tional and speech therapy’ for
the hundreds of handicapped
ehildrcn and adults in North
Texas. “Whether or not these
scn’iccs can be expanded re-
mains to be seen.” he said.
There is still time to make a
contribution, he said. “On be-
half of the 14 people from Elec-
tra who have received help at
the center,” White said. “I cer-
tainly hope everyone will mail
in a donation as soon as pos-
sible.”
The Red River Regional

Friday, April 11, according to
an announcement made this
week by Billy R.:y Wright.
