for the first ele-
ven months of 1971
totaled $709,442 in
Hunt County. Of this •
amount, $68,618 were
purchased during the
month of November
according to Leo
Hackney, Chairman
of the Hunt County
Saving Bonds Comm-
ittee .
During November,
Texans purchased
$16,759,888 in Sav-
ings Bonds. This re-
presents a 12.3 per
cent increase over
the same period last
year. Cumulative
sales for eleven
months of 1971 amoun-
ted to $184,622,944
which is 101 per
cent of the state’s
goal of $181.9 mil-
lion.
Nationally, Sav-
ings Bond sales dur-
ing November total-
ed $457 Million--

Mrs. Mulkey, who
was born March 16,
1892 in Leonard,
died Tuesday, Janu-
ary 4, 1972 in a
Dallas hospital.
She is survived by
two daughters, Mrs.
Irene traido and
Marie Turley of Dal-
las; a son, Ira E.
Mulkey of Dallas;
a sister, Mrs. W.
H. Burns of Green-

66-26 while the Cam-
pbell boys dropped
Celeste 60-52 here
Monday night.
In the girls’ con-
test, Celeste moved
to a 19-7 first per-
iod lead and to a
34-14 command at
intermission. At the
end of the third
period, Celeste was
ahead 44-20.
I Debbie Abernathy
and Sharon Gray,
each with 18 points,
led Celeste scoring
while Judy Chaffin,
with 13, topped Camp-
bell’s efforts.
Phil .Kilgore push-
ed in 19 points in
helping Campbell
down the Blue Dev-
ils.
| Campbell led 22-
12 at the end of the
first period and
36-19 at the end of
the second period.
As the third period
ended, The Indians
held a 53-35 edge.
Roy Hall with 15
and Bobby Nix with
14 paced Celeste
scoring.

First, I would like
to thank all of the
fine people of Green-
ville and Hunt County
for their love and
kindness and loyal
support given Bloom
while he was your
County Clerk.
Now I am asking
you to go to the
polls on May the six-
th and vote for me
for County Clerk to
fill my husband’s
unexpired term. If
I am elected I prom-
ise to serve the
people of Hunt Coun-
ty to the best of
my ability, and feel
that I have had the
business experience
necessary to operate
the office of Coun-
ty Clerk.
I started working
at the age of eigh-
teen years and work-
ed for several years
for two local Flor®-
ists, moved to Oran-
ge, Texas and was
manager of a Florist
there for approxim-
ately three years,
then moved back to
Greenville. For the
last fourteen years
and up until the
time of my husband’s
death, I was manager
of Jewell’s Dress
Shop in downtown
Greenville. The last
four months I have
served as your Coun-
ty Clerk, having
been appointed by
the Commissioners’
Court.
I belong to the
Wesley United Meth-
odist Church, The
Church Bloom and I
attended for the
last twenty-four
years.
I have one daugh-
ter, Patsy Penning-
ton, who lives with
her husband, Jackie,
in St. Louis, Miss-
ouri. I have one
sister, Mrs. Howard
Marshall, and two
brothers Everette
and J.D. Stovall,
all of whom are
Greenville residents.
Please remember
to go to the polls
on May sixth and
vote for Mrs. Bloom
Johnson for County
