met March 29th at 3:00 in the
home of Mrs. Claude Gresham.
Seventeen members and a visitor,
Mrs. Wade, were present to hear
an interesting program on “Se-
curity Takes No Vacation.”
Mrs. Comer Barnard acted as
leader.

During the business session
plans were discussed concerning
the Golden Anniversary Tea to
be held May 10th in the home
of Mrs. Jack Newman,--
Charter members will be hon-
ored at this function. Various
other clubs will be invited. The
Celeste Club is undertaking to
make this a memorable occa-
sion celebrating their fiftieth an-
niversary.
The Celeste Lions Club held its
regular meeting March 22 at the
Town House in Greenville. It
was Ladies Night and Lions Rob-
ert Holloway, Raymond Wade
and S. R. Granberry presented
the program.
Miss Carla De Jouge from
Doom, Holland, an exchange stu-
dent now attending Austin Col-
lege in Sherman, was guest
speaker. This was one of the out-
standing programs of the year
because of the personality and
enthusiam of the speaker. The
report of her country made us
appreciate our ally we have in
the Dutch people for many rea-
sons.
This was also our eleventh an-
niversary program.

for J. S. (Shelby) Blakemore, who
died at his home near Floyd at
6 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 1962.
