This week we are

Indians hunted for

Tales". Some of them
are really funny.

In medium saucepan over
high heat, heat water, butter
and salt. When mixture boils
and butter is melted, reduce
heat to low. With wooden
spoon, briskly stir in flour

1 package (10 ounces)
frozen sliced peaches,
partially thawed
3/4 cup Bacardi dark or
light rum (80 proof)
3 tablespoons lemon
juice
Crushed ice

sharp in new suits—
white trimmed in bl-
ue .
until mixture forms ball and
leaves sides of pan. Remove
from heat and add eggs, one
at a time, beating until mix-
ture is smooth. Drop mix-
ture on greased cookie sheet
into 8 mounds, about 3
inches apart. Bake at 375° F.
for 50 minutes. Cut slit in
side and bake 10 minutes
longer. Cool on wire rack.
In saucepan, cook pudding
according to package direc-
tions adding 1 cup milk
and rum. Cover with plastic
wrap and chill. Fold
whipped cream into chilled
pudding. Just before serving,
cut puff in half. Fill with
cream filling. Place top on
puff. Chill while preparing
sauce. In saucepan, melt
chocolate and butter over
low heat. Add sugar and
rum and stir until smooth.
Spread on cream puffs. If
thinner sauce is desired, add
2 to 3 tablespoons milk.
Makes 8 servings.
ELEGANT RUM
PUFFS
1 cup water
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
or margarine
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsifted flour
4 eggs
1 package (3 ounces)
vanilla pudding
11/2 cups milk
1/2 cup Bacardi light rum
(80 proof)
1/2 cup heavy cream,
whipped
2 squares unsweetened
chocolate
2 tablespoons butter
or margarine
1 cup confectioner’s
sugar
1 tablespoon Bacardi
light rum (80 proof)

ly Living class of
Celeste High School,
taught by Mrs. Hugh
Philips, prepared a
dinner for members
of the Celeste Scho-
ol Board prior to
its meeting Thursd-
ay, January 11.
The menu consisted
of braised beef pot
roast, stuffed baked
potatoes, broccoli
casserole, congealed
lime salad, and cho-
.colate tart.
The meal preparat-
ion served as a lea-
rning experience in
menu planning, table
arrangement, and se-
rving, as well as
being entertaining.
FIRST GRADE
The first grade
has two new classma-
tes , Ranee Johnson
from Rockwall and
Chris Weatherley fr-
om Lewisville. Chris
had a happy birthday
January 21. We now
have 16 girls and 11
boys.
Everyone is memor-
izing subtraction
facts in math. Also
we are playing Bingo
to help us learn to
recognize big numbe-
rs .
Chuck the Duck in-
troduced to the cla-
ss a short u sound. .
In science the cl-
ass has been studyi-
ng about clouds and
rain. We saw a film
called "Where Does
the Rain Come From"
and made a picture
about it.
John Lindsey is

SECOND GRADE
The National Dairy
Council has given us
a two week program
to teach us about
food groups. Pictur-
es for the bulletin
board and tests help
us learn about the
KINDERGARTEN
"Winter" has been
our topic for the
week. We discussed
signs of winter, wo-
rds that describe
winter, and things
you can do in wint-
er. Next, we listen-
ed to a record about
"Frosty the Snowman"
then colored and cut
out a snowman. Using
our paint sets , we
did a winter wash,
first by drawing a
picture with a white
crayon on white pap-
er , then brushing
paint over the enti-
re picture.
We also practiced
writing the letter
"Aa".
Leaders for the
week were Jason Min-
ter, Tara Lewis, Je-
remy Zachary, and
Krissie Kinser.
