Ball September 27, 2010 DART inducted into Hispanic Chamber's Million Dollar Club The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) inducted Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) into their "Million Dollar Club" at the 31st Annual National Convention & Business Expo in Dallas. Chamber officials said DART was included in the inaugural class of club members because of the transit agency's "success in leveling the playing field for Hispanic-owned business enterprises competing for corporate contracts." The organization also recognized DART doing an outstanding job of integrating Hispanic-owned business enterprises into its strategic sourcing and procurement processes. The inaugural class of the Million Dollar Club has 20 top-level corporations from across the country. The annual meeting of the USHCC is the largest gathering of Hispanic business leaders in America. The Million Dollar Club was created by the USHCC to honor and celebrate the commitment of corporations and their procurement executives who recognize the value of Hispanic Business Enterprises. The honorees range from $25 million to more than $500 million in spending with Hispanic suppliers in 2009. During that period DART awarded more than $112 million to Hispanic- owned firms.
