How It Grows
“It has often been mid that
whenever Congresa sets a
problem, it trim to solve It by
throwing money at it. It might
atoo be eaid that when Congress
eem a problem. It trim to solve It
by throwing a law at it. Then it
often sets up a government
agency to administer that law.
The tew Itself to frequently vague
and subject to different Inter-
pretations, so the government
agency has a great deal of
latitude in administering K. It
sets up elaborate regulations to
enforce the tew which often go
far beyond what Congress in-
tended. Over the years these
regulations develop a life of their
own, evolving, growing, overlap-
ping, and often conflicting with
others. Regulations breed
regulations. And government
grows and grows."

Skunk
Population
Increases In
Colorado County
A noted Increase In tbe
skunk population in Colora-
do County has been observed
reports County Extension
Agent Johnnie Cooper.
Weather conditions have
produced an abundance of
feed and litter survival has
been high.
The high population will
soon be mobile and concen-
trating due to a more limit-
ed feed supply caused by dry
weather.
This could result in a rab-
ies build-up among the popu-
lation which could pose a
threat to humans.
Citizens are encouraged to
have their pets vaccinated
for rabies which is a good
practice any year, but is of
special concern when you
consider the present situat-
ion.
Hhefty and political fraudum

last year, with buck and
antler less deer tags and tur-
key tags printed on water-
proof, tear - resistant pap-
er. Date of kill on deer
tags this year either may be
marked out in ink or cut
from the tag.
License fees also are un-
changed — $8.75 for a com-
bination hunting and fishing
license, '$5.25 for resi-
dent hunting and 25 cents
for a resident exempt lic-
ense.
Usual spaces for white -
winged dove and federal
migratory waterfowl stamps
are to be found on the lic-
enses. Hunters heading
to the Rio Grande Valley for
the September 4 - 6, 11
and 12 whitewing season are
reminded they need a
$3.00 White - Winged Dove
Stamp and are advised to
obtain them before arriving
in the Valley.
