Chapt-r. I
Dear Mr. Baldwin:
Yesterday I went to vi. it a prinfer. to
hud out about quick reprints of some of my
old prormnis for advertising purposes.
W hen I .bowed tiim Hie four programs of
my “historical series” of a few years ago,
he said:
“Well nyw, this printing has sonic
class! If you want something that
looks as elegant, us that, 1 might as
well say, 1 can’t take the job!”
Whereupon it pleased mo to relate that
1 realized the unusual quality of that work,
and that it might interest him to know that
it was done in a small town in Texas.
Following this experience I showed those
programs to the man who teaches Business
Art in Columbia, and he pronounced them
as excellently planned and executed.
Now if you have had any particularly
discouraging days, when people don't appre-
ciate your artistic work, just cheer up by
remembering that New York knows and
approves.
