There was considerable small
damage done Thursday night by
Halloween celebrators in several
parts of the city, albeit the damage
was nothing like so great as it has
been in some previous years. Unde-
terred by the police announcement,
the gangsters roamed through the
city, some in sheets and some with-
out, tearing up bridges, tearing
down and carrying off gates, and
like stunts. A number of citizens
reported to the Record and Chroni-
cle Friday morning of minor dam-
age done in their sections, some re
porting the entire disappearance of
their gates, many of which were,
however, found during the day.
