the county's quota. Thirty-eight of
the second call were similarly certified.
The delay in hearing from the Dis-
trict board is somewhat puzzling to
members of the local board. There
have been thirty-one appeals taken
from the local board's dependency rul-
ings and at least seventy-five applica-
tions for exemption on vocational
grounds, chiefly agriculture. out of
the 106 cases that have gone to the Dis-
trict board, decisions have been re-
ceivefl by the local board in only four
—all paroles until Dec. 1 and one of
these was later rescinded.
