tions from Washington the crews of the
German merchant ships tied up here
have been given .more freedom. They
are permitted to leave their vessels and
go to land on passes signed by their
commanders, but must return to their
vessels before midnight of the same
day. Since the break they have been
confined to their ships.

QUEENSTOWN. Feb. 9 —The Nor-
wegian ship Skorskog was sunk yes-
terday by a German submarine. The
crew was aboard the submarine
when steamer appeared on the
scene and the submarine submerg-
ed. The chief officer and steward
were the only members of the crew
able to return to the ship’s boat and
were picked up by the steamer.
LONDON. Feb. 9—The Norwegian
I vessel Ida has been sunk by a German
I submarine. The surviving members of
( the crew were landed today. The cap-
tain said tb<5 mate and steward were
killed by tiring from the submarine.
He said the submarine continued firing
on the vessel until it sank.
Lloyd's announces the Hanskinck, the
former American vessel Satilla, has been
sunk.
The Norwegian vessel Sanna Larsen
has been sunk.

up a “bone dry” amendment and have
it set for special order in the House of

The “bone dry” resolution as drafted
by Representative French Spencer of
Wise county, was accepted by a vote
of the caucus. The resolution prohib-
its the manufacture, sale, barter or
exchange, the transportation interstate
or intrastate or the storage of intoxi-
cating liquors in the state.
