Health Services Agency met last
week at Electra Chamber of
Commerce for a dinner meeting

nutrients throughout the growing
season. The rates of application
are low, applying only 7 to 8
pounds of fertilizer per 1,000
square feet. This low rate also
tends to eliminate big flushes of
growth following fertilization.
The recommended lawn fertili-
zers contain high levels of nitro-
gen, low amounts of phosphorus,
and either low or medium amounts
of potassium. Examples of re-
commended fertilizer analysis in-
clude 15-5-5, 15-5-10, 17-7-7,
12-4-4, and 12-4-8. The possible
fertilizer combinations are almost
unlimited. These are just
examples of fertilizers with the
desired ratio.

Treatment for the peach tree
borer was accomplished on the
tree of C.L. Darter of Wichita
Falls last fall. He is in the process
of removing the earth mounds
from the base of the tree created
by the treatment.
The remainder of his peach borer
control will be accomplished by
spraying the trunks of the trees
with Dursban on June 10 and
August 15. Hopefully these trunk
spray s will eliminate the need for
fall treatment. Experience indica-

Activity through Electra Police
Department and Electra Municipal
Court was moderate last week with
several arrests and over $600 in
j fines levied through- Electra Muni-
cipal Court. Other activity accord-
ing to police records Tuesday
, indicate one grass fire.
- Following are reports for the
i week March 29th through April
5th.
March 29th-A 22 year old male
| . paid a $31 fine for driving an
unregistered vehicle; a 50 year old
female paid a $31 fine for passing
on the wrong side.
- April Ist-A 29 year old male
was arrested for public intoxica-
tion, disorderly conduct, no dri-
ver’s license, no libility insurance,
possession of controlled substan-
ce, aggrevated assault and crimin-
al trespass. It was also discovered
he was wanted on felony fugitive
from justice warrants from Wash-
ington State for burglary and
robbery. He was transfered to the
County jail for extradition to
Washington State; a 31 year old
female paid a $31 fine for
speeding.
April 2nd-A 25 year old female
was released with a citation after
being arrested for driving while
intoxicated; a 44 year old male was
arrested on a J.P. Warrant for
assault. He was jailed and later
released to appear before the
judge; a 50 year old male was
arrested 6n a J.P. Warrant for
disorderly conduct. He was jailed
and later released to see the
judge; a 47 year old male was
jailed for nublic intoxication and

is looking toward fertilizing His
first fertilization is scheduled for
April 15 The other recommended

GIRLS DISTRICT TUESDAY
Breckengidge Cops
District 7-AAA Title
The Breckenridge girls track
team rolled up 172 points Tuesday
at Tiger Track to win the District
7-AAA Girls track title, while
Electra accumulated 72 points for
a fourth place finish.
Cold temperatures and a bitting
wind hampered the District 7-AAA
meet Tuesday as Abilene Wylie
took second place with 133 points.
Third place went to Clyde with 101
while Merkel finished fifth at 50
and Stamford sixth with 20 points.
First place wins at the district
meet for Electra were registered
by Tammy Stephens in the 100-
meter dash and Monica Johnson in
the shot put. Stephens ran a 12.70
for her win, while Johnson heaved
the shot 38-1036.
Other point makers for Electra
