painter, Richard Stone, with a
painting of Queen Elizabeth IL
Wilborn, son of Mr. and Mrs.
W. T. Wilborn of Pampa and
a graduate of Pampa High
School, will complete much of
the detail work on the dress and
the background of the painting.
Stone has completed the face of
the full length portrait.
The portrait, commissioned
by the City of Colchester to
mark the 800th anniversary
of its royal charter, has been
heavily publicized in the British
press because of its realistic
depiction of the queen, showing
wrinkles and grey hair.
Wilborn has been presented
to the queen. In addition to
his work on the painting, he
is also touring England with
his wife, Nancy, and daughter,
Elisabeth.
Wilborn’s paintings can cur-
rently be viewed in an exhibition
at the Brent Gallery in Hous-
ton.

Strips of unharvested grain
around fields, edges near brush,
or tall grasses provide excellent
food for quail and turkey.
Mourning Dove will feed on
shattered seed where soils are
shallow and the stand of grain
is thin.
“Even if the entire field is
harvested, these same areas can
be left untilled until next plant-
ing season to benefit wildlife,”
said Lewis. Without tillage,

birds and an 8-inch stubble pro
