been having the past 20 some-odd
days that makes me wish I could
find that feller who invented vinyl
seat covers for automobiles. If you
don’t think you can move fast, just
put on a pair of cut-off jeans and
then sit down in the front seat of
your car that’s been sitting in the
sun for awhile. Bob Hayes should
have been able to move so fast.

Holcomb.of Frisco ..visited in„the.
home of Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Bailey
and Mrs. E.B. Holcomb recently.
They have just returned from
Scotland and reported plenty of
rain and a good time. They met
Mrs. Francis Brogden of Fontana,
Calif., who was visiting Mr. and
Mrs. Bailey and who returned
home with the Holcombs to visit
her son in Dallas.
THE DAUGHTERS of the late
B.E. Parmley gathered in Killeen,
Texas for a day of visiting, picture
taking and showing on June 8th.
They met in the home of two of the
daughters. Mrs. Rama Long and
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Casper.
Those attending were : Mr. and
Mrs. Ted Miller, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Clynch, of Electra; Mrs.
Wilma Showater of Big Spring;
Mr. and Mrs. George Roth,
Houston; and several grandchil-
dren.
The City of Electra has just
received a check in the amount of
$5,820.04 representing its one-
cent share of the five cent sales tax
charged on local retail purchases.
The latest check brings a total of
$68,393.21 received by the city
this year which indicates a 29
percent growth over the $52,842-
.42 received by this date last year.
Electra leads all Wichita County
cities in percentage of growth over
the past year

Teams more than seven strokes
from the lead in the second flight
will be placed in a consolation
bracket and play Sunday’s final
round for $200 and $100 for
consolation second place.
Teams playing Saturday must
either tee off at 9 a.m. or at 2 p.m.

Hogle to bond the Superintendant
of Schools and have all checks
co-signed by him and one of the
officers of the board. The motion
passed 4-2 with Trustees Hogle,
Hayers, Don Brewer and Benny
McHugh voting in favor and
Trustees Jack Hesse and Herbie
Adams voting against.
-Passed a second motion by Jack
Hesse and seconded by Hogle to
supercede the first motion and to
have the Superintendent’s secre-
tary bonded for the purpose of
co-signing checks.
-Placed on the agenda for the
next meeting time to discuss
amount of bond and a general
discussion of which process would
be simplest in the school’s check
signing process.
