Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rodgers en-
tertained a group of friends at
their home Ttiseday evening. April
I. with four tables of bridge.
Tlie April Fool idea was featured
Fortune-telling tallies created much
merriment among the guests.
John C. Womble captured low i
score prize for the men. A safety
razor, but had difficulty in locat-
ing it within many wrappings in-
side a large box. Mrs. Ernest
Barnard won low for ladies, which
after much unwrapping of a bulky
package, proved to be a vegetable
spoon.
Mrs. Noel Hunter was winner of
high for ladies and was presented
a silver butter knife, while Mr.
Barnard was lucky in high for
men, the prize being silk hose.
Refreshments of hot coffee and
coffee rolls were served to: Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Barnard, Mr. and
Mrs. John C. Womble, Mr. and
Mrs. Noel Hunter, Mr. and Mrs.
Ivan McIntire, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Gordon, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Kil-
crease and the host and hostess.

DANIELS HOME SCENE OF
OUTSTANDING SOCIAL
AFFAIR.
An effective springtime setting
was achieved by a profusion of
fragrant spring flowers appearing
throughout the rooms of the lovely
home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar P.
Daniel on Tuesday evening when
Mrs. Daniel was hostess honoring
the husbands of the Friday after-
noon Bridge Club.
Motifs suggestive of the Easter
season and a lovely yellow and
pink color scheme was featured in
the game accessories and on the
dainty plate which was served at
the individual tables after bridge.
Six tables of players enjoyed
winning high score award for the
ladies and Mr. Freeman won
high among the men. Mrs. J.
Grover Kilgore received the cut
and Mrs. Frank M. Hardcastle of
Houston, house guest of Mrs.
Kilgore, was remembered with a
gift.
Guests attending were: Mrs.
Frank Hardcastle of Houston, Mes-

A lovely party Of the past week
was the afternoon bridge given by
Mrs. Grover Kilgore, honoring her
sister, Mrs. Frank M. Hardcastle
of Houston.
A color mule of lavender and yel-
low appeared in all the appoint-
ments throughout the afternoon
and the centerpieces for the
tallies were jonquils and fern
crystal bud vases. Baskets
spring flowers were used
decorations in the rooms.

CELEBRATES GOLDEN WED.
DING ANNIVERSARY.
Happy memories of the wedding
of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Magee in
the vicinity of Forestburg fifty
years ago were brought to the
minds of relatives and friends on
March 30, 1930, when Mr. and
Mrs. Magee celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Magee reisde in j
Montague, Texas, and are pioneers I
in Montague county, having lived
there throughout their lives.
They celebrated at Foresburg
with a very delightful picnic lunch
to relatives and many friends.
Later they came back to Montague
where their son, Rev. J. P. Magee,
of Goree, Texas, delivered an ex-
cellent sermon at the Methodist
Church that evening. Old friends
and ithe entire attendance at the O
services congratulated Mr. and
Mrs. Magee as well as Rev. Magee I
for the wonderful sermon

Easter decorations and motifs; the
attractive theme being furthered in
the game accessories and in the
menu that was served at the close
of the games.

among the club members and Mrs.
Weldon Lunn the cut, while Mrs.
Hubert Stringer of Wichita Falls
and Miss Gale Humphries of Dal-
las were presented guest prizes.
