be annulled?
Oh, Loretta, is there possi-
bly a chance or a way out for
us?
Dear Loretta:
What does it mean when hus-
bands pay more attention to
other men's wives than their
own at social gatherings?
WONDERING
Dear Wondering:
It generally means that the
wife has been taking her hus
band for granted. Better take
warning.

therefore, I am putting my trust and confidence; in you.
When I was in junior high I fell in love with a neighbor boy with
Who I grew up. We shared with each other all the pain and hurt,
happiness and whatever else it took in growing up. The once child-
ish, impetuous love turned into a very strong and real lovejthe kind
of love that it takes tomake a long beautiful and happy marriage^
something John and I had always hoped, planned and dreamed of.
As time wore on, our feelings became intense until we found otu>
selves in serious situations. Because we loved as we did, it was un-
safe for us to be together. We knew we were too young to be mar-
ried but we couldn't keep on the way we were. . So, we mutually
agreed to break up and start
dating other until we could
cope with what we felt. It was
very hard to do but we knew
it had to be done.
Well, I started dating diff-
erent boys after that while John
stood back and watched. It
hurt me as much as him because
he had become a part of me,
but I knew I couldn't go back
to him. That would take us
back to where we were before
I, <• somehow", managed to
get by, but it didn't work out
so well for John. He started
dating Marie who had the wo-
rst reputation in the school.
• Some say it was to get even
with me for not going back
to him. Anyway, the girl got
pregnant. They ran away and
got married by a Justice of the
Peace. They were 17!
Recently, John came to see
me. He's in a mess and scared.
To make things worse, he has
found out t hat the unborn baby
is not his after all. It could
belong to another boy friend
of Marie's who was Idlled in
Vietnam soon after she cone,
eived. Marie tricked him into'
marriage which never should
have been. The tragedy' is
that he still loves me and my
heart aches with pain, hurt and
love for him.
The only possible thing I can
figure out is that their marr-
Colene
Dear Colene:
Yes. It CAN be annulled. Both
you and John consult with your
parents and authorities, non-
secular, secular or both. And
the best of luck to you!
