Grandfalls Edges
Cougars 24-20
Grandfalls, Tex. -The game
started with Dell City kick-
ing to Grandfalls. Rudy San-
chez ran the kickoff back to
midfield where the Cowboys
started their drive. From
there the Cowboys drove to
the Cougars 6 where Jim Rag-
lin drove over. The extra
point attempt was no good.
Following the Grandfalls
kickoff, the Cougars were un-
successful in moving the ball
and were forced to punt. With
the ball changing hands sev-
eral times the Cougars were
finally able to move the ball
with the running of Jimmy
Foster and "Robert Bavousett.
The next play Jimmy Foster
drove over from the 4 for
the 1st Cougar touchdown.
The extra point was off to
the right.
During the second quarter
the ball changed hands sev-
eral times. With about 8
minutes gone of the second
quarter, the Cowboys drove
to the Cougars 6 where Raul
Abila drove across. The 2-
point conversion was stopped.
The 1st half ended with the
Grandfall Cowboys 12 and
the Dell City Cougars 6.
The 3rd quarter started with
the Cougars receiving the
kickoff. The Cougars drove
to the Cowboys 12 yard line
using up 4 minutes of the
clock. On the 4th down
Snodgrass dropped back and
hit Armendariz for the touch-
down. Robert Bavousett ran
for the 2-point conversion.

Dell Valley - The Seniors
are sponsoring a SPANISH
SUPPER previous to the Home-
coming Game Friday night.
They will start serving at
5:00 PM, and serve up until
game time. $1. 25 per plate.
They will serve in the school
cafeteria.
There will be a Homecom-
ing Dance after the Anthony-
Dell City game Friday night.
A local band will furnish the
music at the Community
Building. A dmission is $1. 00.

Visiting the Candido Hol-
guin 's recently were Olga
Holguin and family from El
Paso, and son Eddie Holguin,
Irma's mother, Mrs. J. D.
Mendez, is spending a few
weeks with the Holguin's.
Mrs. Mary McCutcheon, mo-
ther of Eldon and Claymon,
broke her leg very badly
Saturday night in a fall at
the community building. We
hope Mrs. McCutcheon is
feeling much better now.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hefner,
(formerly Dianne Jones) are
visiting with Dianne's father,
Fritz and family. Robert has
been stationed in Virginia.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Brew-
er and young daughter visited
with grandparents, the Carol
Brewer's this past weekend.
I extend my sincerest
thanks and appreciation to
all who voted for me and su-
pported me as a Write-In
Candidate for Justice of the
Peace in the Nov. 3 election.
Faye Hill is in Sun Towers
hospital. We wish her a
speedy return home.

Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Snod-
grass visited in Lubbock this
past weekend with relatives
and friends.

The 4H Club and Cub Scouts ■
will have an Auction, Sun-
day November 8 from 2:00
until ??, at the Community
Building. Austin Lewis will
be auctioneer. Anyone hav-
ing donations of any kind -
clothes, food, anything, the
4H and Scouts would appre-
ciate it. Everyone invited.
I would like to thank all
those who made it possible
for me to get Cotton Queen.
I would especially like to
thank the Lions Club who
sponsored me, and help me
a whole lot. Thank you.
