It is discovered that “siagle-foot-
ing” horses can st’ll race and be
wagered on under the Texas anti
race track betting law. The law re-
cites that it is unlawful to make or
accept a bet on any horse race to be
"run, trotted or paced in Texas or
elsewhere." This should increase
the breeders' interest in the siugle-
footers.

see how some of the children of the

man who know.-- his children are go-

There are some things that drive
even the sedate editor of the Bon-
ham News to profanity. This seems
to be one of them:
Twenty years ago a Jackson-
ville, Ind., girl lost her engage-
ment ring and accused her lover
of stealing it. The evidence was
all circumstantial but was so
strong that the lover was con-
victed u'id sent to the peniten-
tiary ter two years.. .When he
regained his freedom he went
back home but never spoke to
the girl again. The other Jay
she found the ring where she
had lost it, and at once proceed-
ed- to try to mak* amends ter
the injury she did her lover.
They ar0 going to marry on the
20th of this month, the twen-
tieth anniversary of the day on
which he entered prison, it was
a m'stake to send that man to
tbe penitent'ary, even had he
been guilty of the theft. Where
he belongs is in a good home for
dam fools.
And who doesn’t think that the
News man expresses it very mildly
when we consider the aggravation.

Women Who Are Envied.
Those attractive women who are
lovely in face, form /ind temper are
the envy of many, who might be like
them. A weak, sickly woman will be
nervous and irritable. Constipation
or kidney poisons show in pimples
blotches, skin eruptions and a wretch-
ed complexion. For all such Elec-
tric Bitters Vork wonders. They
regulate stomach, liver and kidneys,
purify the blood; give strong nerves,
blight eyes, pure breath, smooth,
velvety skin, lovely complexion.
Many charming women owe their
health and beauty to them. 59c at J.
