The meeting at Beauchamp hill is
still in progress. Saturday was a day
of victory. Rev. C. E. Roberta gave a
fine Bible reading on "The Church"

from Rom. 6:22—"But now being
made free from sin, and become ser-
vants to God. ye have your fruits
unto holiness, and’the end everlast-
ing life.' The crowds were large and
convict'on deep. Special service was
held in the afternoon at the court

worth at least $150 to him. Mr Cowan

R. M. Mitchell, Prop.
g uateu at rnot ruiui,
« the secretary. Miss Hatt'e Saylor, and (
S four redeemed young ladies had
§ charge of the service. Miss Saylor,
w w’ho has been secretary for the Tex-
S as rescue work for nearly seven
S years, gave some startling statistics.
H It is now a known fact that there is
S a systematised traffic in girls in the
2 United States and last year over 15,-
<5 000 were imported into our country
for immoral purposes. It is estimated
that there are 641.000 fallen girls
in America and as the average life is
only five years, it takes 108,000 of
our beautiful daughters of America
every year to take the place of those
[who die in sn and fill a nameless
grave. Many eyes were opened Sun-
day to this great evil.
Mrs. W nnie Liiburg Roberts, who
is a returned missionary from Africa
and who has labored in the slums of
some of our large cities, brought us
a stirring message. The redeemed
young ladies sang several impressive
songs and testified of God’s wonder-
ful love and saving grace and sent up
praises to H'm who said in days pas’
and gone, "Neither do 1- condemn
thee, go and sin no more." We know
he must be pure who would blame
another and as “there is so much
good in the worst of us and so much
bad in the best of us, that it hardly
behooves any of us to talk about the
rest of us ”
The people here in Denton may be
indifferent to the social evil that
passes by their door, but let its blight
once fail upon them or theirs and
then they will be aroused to antagon-
ism. It is evident by tne way some
people I've that they have forgotten
that Gods knows the secret sins of
their hearts and lives, for it seems
as if their consc’ence has meekly fold-
ed its hands upon its breast and gone
to sleep. When will the people of
IJenton awaken.
At the night serv ce Mrs. May Tay-
lor told her remarkable experience
of fifteen days in jail, as she spoke
the shekinah of God rested upon her
and her face shown with the Heaven-
ly light All who listened realized
she was one of God’s chosen ones
There were about 1500 people presen,
and the attention was splend’d.
The camp meeting committee de-
cided to continue the meeting a few
services longer and give the peopb*
another opportunity to repent of their
sine.
Monday morn’ng was a
break in the service Bro. C. E. Ro-
berts came out expecting to preach
but no sermon was needed. Testimon-
ials and confessions were the order,
closing in one of best altar services
of the entire meeting. The closing
service at night was one of liberty
and victory. The altar service contin-
ued until 11 o'clock and closed with
the shouts of new-born souls This
has been one of the best camp meet-
ings in recent years.
The result of the meeting is very
satisfactory to those in charge. The
attendance was well up to the usual
and the committee in charge are well
pleased with the observation of the
rules of the meeting by/ the public
and for the financial support given.

Six hundred persons—-by actual
count—enjoyed hugely a big fi»h-fry
at the Lunn'lake, eight miles east of
Denton. Permission from the own-
ers of the lake Messrs. Jagoe and
Cantrell to seine in it had beejj secur
ed by the promoters of the affair
which included Capt. Bu'h, Lee Mc-
Reynolds. Bob. Parrish and a number
of others, and a big seine was used I
to catch enough for everybody to eat !
In addition the good ladies of the
community on very short notice— I
late Saturday afternoon—prepared a
bountiful basket spread with almost j
everyth'ng imaginable good to eat ,
About 500 pounds of fine fish—carp. ]
trout, cat, etc.—were caught by the j
seiners and cooked deliciously for !
the dinner, which was served about I
noon. The seiners numbered as high I
as fifty-five persons at one time and i
the work of seining was by the divis-
ion of labor made light. Several
from Denton attended and furnish
the above details of what they term
one of the most enjoyable affairs of
its kind they ever attended.
