"I took the blame for killing Ansel
White to save the man 1 loved.” de-
clared Viola Ramos at the
jail Wednesday morning after
had told her second version of ‘.he
killing of Ansej White, this t me
placing the guilt at the door of an-
other.
Following the killing of Ansel
White I , a house half a block from
the county jail, two women and three
men were arrested for complicity in
the deed. To the county attorney and
to a reporter of the Star-Telegram
Viola Ramos took the wnole blame
on herself, saying she did not want
innocent persons to sutfer.
Wednesday morning V tola made a
statement to a reporter declaring
lhat one of the men stabbed White
while she yas trying to push him out
of the room. "I was pushing Fatty
back when he (naming one of the
men under arrest) struck over my
shoulder with a long knife The lit-

that did the work,

plead guilty to manslaughter, but
her latest ‘statement will necessitate
a new course.

that the day should be set aside as

The members of the earn]) will
meet at the court house at 2 o'clock
and march to the burial ground,

MAJESTIC CLOSES TONIGHT
The work of moving the Majestic
theater to the new airdome on East
Hickory street, next door to the
Kanady Seed House, will begin Mon-
day morning Manager Renfro
states that he has decided not to
give any performances next week at
all, using the entire week in finish-
ing up the new theater so as to
have it ready for the opening night,
It was the inten-
tion of Mr. R»nfro to have the Frank-
lin Stock company open the new
theater, but was force-J to cancel
this engagement on account of the
company's price of admission, they
having refused to play for an admis-
sion of less than 15, 2J and 35c.
This throws the ad miss on price too
high so they wll] not open here
However, instead Manager Renfro
promises one of the greatest pro-
grams ever witnessed in Denton.
State Normal wil] tonight give
concert at Argyle, under the direc-
tion of Miss M. Manora Boylan.
About twenty-five or thirty students
will go to Argyle for the affair.
