port upgrades to KC’s information technology infrastructure.
Upgrades will bring state-of-the-art wireless networks to KC

The Henderson City Council held their 2019-
2020 budget workshop Tuesday afternoon with
Jay Abercrombie, City Manager leading the two
hour session.
First on the agenda was a presentation from
Justin Cure, Information Services Director for
the City of Longview about Henderson entering
into a possible agreement using the GTS (Geo-
graphical Information Systems) and City Works
programs.
KILGORE - The East Texas
Oil Museum at Kilgore College
will host National Oil and Gas
Industry Appreciation Day on
Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Admission to the museum
will be complimentary for any-
one who works in the petro-
leum industry (and his or her
family members).
The event, set for 3 to 7
p.m., will begin with opening
remarks by Dr. Brenda Kays,
KC president.
An unveiling of the name of
the oilfield worker in Boom-
town, USA will take place, as
well as family activities and
door prizes.
This event is sponsored by
McClung Energy Services LLC;
Tanos Exploration II, LLC; and

The Texas Brotherhood Ride
will be making a rest stop in
Henderson at around 11 a.m.
Monday, Aug. 19 in the middle
of its eight-day trek through
Texas communities remember-
ing fallen brothers over the
past year.
The ride consists of firefight-
ers, police officers and EMS
personnel who ride bicycles as
a mission to provide emotional
and financial support to their
families and co-workers.
This year, the ride will be hon-
