Let us be plain? If you have been taking your
time in paying your bills because you felt the mer-
chants were able to carry you indefinitely you are
at fault There are hundreds of others who want
credit and if you fail to pay accounts when due
some one else may be forced to wait. Pay last
month’s purchases now. Your future credit stand-
ing depends not upon how you can pay" but how
do you pay. >

be paid not later than the 10th of the month (un-
less arrangements were made for accounts to run
longer). The writer of these ads even feels that
they hit him personally sometimes, but at the same
time he knows they are true and he is forced to
sacrifice some of the luxuries of his home and fam-
ily in order to be true to the men who have enough
confidence in him to extend credit on open ac-
count. All business men have confidence m their
customers or they would not extend credit to them
in the first place—let’s make this confidence grow
stronger as the months go by so that in time of fi-
nancial need we will have a friend. Credit is a con-
