Turkey Dinner
At Streety Home
Members of the Dorcas Circle of
the Baptist W. M. U., a Southfield
organization, were delightfully en-
tertained Monday at the home of
Mrs. J. M.’Streety. A turkey din-
ner with all the usual accessories
was served at high noon to eighteen
members and guests. Following the
dinner Mrs. Paul Parsons conducted
the regular Bible lesson from the
[Book of Ruth. The Love Sister
■ names were revealed in an exchange
of Christmas gifts.

Rites will be held here tomorrow,
but funeral arrangements were not
complete at noon for Owen Darnell, •
age 28, who died at his home at 700
North Electra street Thursday
morning at 7 o’clock after a four
day illness of pneumonia. The de-
ceased has resided in Electra for
some time, having moved here from
Wellington. He was a mechanic in
the garage at the Gulf Service sta-
tion on East Cleveland.
Immediate survivors include his
Summer Wish”—(Hopkins)—’widow, the former Miss Tennie
Benson of Oklaunion, to whom he
was married on May 5th of this
year; his mother, Mrs. L W. Gar-
rison of Hobbs, New Mexico; his
father, W. V. Darnell of Amarillo;
tv’o sisters, Miss Cora Lee Darnell
of Electra and Mrs. W. B. Groves
of Amarillo; a brother, H. H. Dar-
nell of McLean. All except the
brother were present at his bed-
side when the end came. The brother
came to Electra to attend the fu-
neral.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Benson of
Oklaupion, parents of the grief
stricken young widow, were among
the out of town relatives called
here by Mr. Darnell’s illness and
death.
