Sue had a servant’s heart. She was a very
giving and loving person and would go out
of her way to help anyone that was in need.
She was very active in the Woman’s Circle
at Whaley United Methodist Church. She
made many, many stuffed bears for the Hos-
pice “Bear Hugs” program. She served on the
Board at the Butterfield Stage in Gainesville.
She was greeted in heaven by her par-
ents, beloved son David McFarlin, sister Jea-
nette Doty, brother-in-laws Mort Straubmuel-
ler and Teddy Barclay, nieces Ashli Spindle
and Courtney Smith, and a host of other an-
gels.
She leaves her loving memories to be
cherished by her husband, Dick of Gaines-
ville; sons, Don and wife Karen McFarlin
(whom she claimed as her daughter) of Gor-
donville and Jim and wife Hope Luthi of Erie
Colorado; cherished granddaughter, Brooke
and husband Adam Russell of Whitesboro
and her bonus granddaughter Courtney El-
dred of Colorado; 4 precious great-grandchil-
dren: Adisyn, Miley, Aiden & Ethan Russell
(whom she called her babies); sisters, Annette
Straubmueller of Corinth, Kay Barclay of
Valley View, Joye & husband Mack Williams
of Sanger, and brother, Cliff & wife Trina
Spindle of Valley View; and numerous niec-
es, nephews, cousins, and close friends whom

she considered her extended family.
Sue was a very faithful servant of God.
She was a smart, loving, kind and gener-
ous person. You could ALWAYS count
on her! If you were a part of her life, she
made an impact on you because she was a
rock, always steady. An unfillable void has
been left in her place. Sue’s cheerful smile,
sense of humor, gentle loving nature, and
thoughtfulness will be forever missed by
her many family and friends.
In honoring Sue’s request, there will
be no funeral or viewing. She loved getting
together with family and friends to share
firn and laughter, and requested that her
memory be carried on in the same fashion.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Sue’s
honor to share stories filled with fun and
happy memories at Whaley United Meth-
odist Church in Gainesville TX on April
13th from 1:00-3:00.
Online condolences may be made at
www cokerfimeralhome. com.
Memorial contributions may be made
to Butterfield Stage in Gainesville, Whaley
United Methodist Church, or a charity of
your choice.
