June 17,1945 - July22,2018
Richard Earl Richards, 73, passed away on Sunday,
July 22, 2018 at his home in Gainesville, Texas. The son of
Joe and Helen Gwendolyn (Fesperman) Richards, he was
born on June 17, 1945 in San Angelo.
Richard grew up and attended school in San Angelo.
He then went on to serve our country in
the United States Army. He reported to
duty in September of 1963 in Abilene and
was discharged in September of 1965. In
November of 1965, he decided to make
a career serving our country in the Army
and did so for the next 27 years. In that
time, he earned the rank of Sergeant Ma-
jor and several commendations which
would include the Legion of Merit, a
Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster, a Purple Heart,
Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster,
Army Commendation Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clus-
ters, Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device, Army
Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (9th Award),
Vietnam Service Medal with one silver and one bronze ser-
vice stars, NCO Professional Development Ribbon Numer-
al 2, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon Nu-
meral 5, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat
Infantry Badge, Expert Badge Rifle, Expert Badge Pistol,
Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge
with Palm, National Defense Service Medal with one ser-
vice star, and most recently The Presidential Unit Citation
presented by President Barack Obama to the 11th Armored
Calvary Regiment aka the Blackhorse Regiment, for their
bravery in rescuing the Charlie Company during the Viet-
nam War.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, one sister
Betty McIntyre and one grand-daughter Madison Jones.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his three
daughters Rhonda Casey of Austin, Roma Elkouri of Gor-
donville, and Amy Cavins of Gainesville; two sisters Kay
Peysen of San Angelo and Joyce Dougherty of San Angelo;
three brothers Butch Richards of San Angelo, Gary Rich-
ards of Midland, and Dale Richards of Osage, AR; nine
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A military graveside service will be held on Friday, Au-
gust 3, 2018 at 2:15 pm at the Dallas-Fort Worth National
Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dal-
las, Texas 75211

Howard (Judy) Frank of Aubrey & Sarah Norris of Whites-

Billy Wayne George
April 8,1939 - July25,2018
Billy Wayne George, 79, of Sanger passed away on July
25, 2018 in Denton, Texas. He was born on April 8, 1939 in
Sanger, Texas to John and Lucile (Erwin) George. He served
2 years in the US Army. Billy retired from Turbo in Den-
ton where he worked as a machinist. He
married Louellen Bottoms in Denton on
July 14, 1979.
He attended Sanger ISD and mem-
ber of Full Gospel Denton. He was a
beloved son, brother, husband, father,
grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Louellen
George of Sanger, daughters; Connie
Odum of Sanger, Kathy Johnson and
husband Ricky of Aubrey, Margene Cudd and husband Bry-
an of Denton, Ladonna Carroll and husband Pat of Ponder
and Sharon Hill of Aubrey. Sister Margaret Jordon of Val-
ley View, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Wayne
George, four sisters and six brothers and his mother and fa-
ther.
The family received friends on Sunday, July 29, 2018
from 2-4 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Tex-
as. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of DeBerry Fu-
neral Directors on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Pas-
tor Jack Howard and Pastor Monya Howard were in charge
of service with internment to following at Bellew Cemetery
in Aubrey, Texas
U.S. Navy Veteran. Serving on the US
Neosho AO 143, MMFN, E3
He was an active member of the
North Texas Tap pool league and a
friend to all he met on the road. Danny
loved his family and his many friends. He
loved dancing, playing pool and guitars
and his favorite bar stool at Mr. Porky’s.
Danny was survived by sons, Dustin
Frank, Justin Frank and daughters Kristi
Roberson, Chelsey Frank, Ashley Frank and his most be-
loved grandson, Grayson Frank, brothers, Phil Rennaker
and Steven Frank, sisters, Jodi (Bryan) Corbin, Melissa
(Bill) Smith. 7 nephews, 5 nieces 12 great nieces and neph-
ews.
Preceded Danny in death was sister Amanda Pruett
and grandson Justin Cole Frank, Step-father Robert Lee
Norris
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August
1, 2018 from 6:30 to 8 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in
Denton, Texas.
Services were held in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral
Directors on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Inter-
ment followed at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Argyle, Texas.

Wilda Jene Smith, 88, of Denton, died Wednesday, July
25, 2018 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Mrs. Smith was born on December 18, 1929 in Drop,
TX to Boyd Fuller, Sr. and Lottie Wil-
ma (Malone) Fuller. She was married to
James R. Smith on June 29, 1947 in Pon-
der, TX; he died on November 11, 2008.
She was retired from Victor Equipment.
She is survived by daughters, Judy
Venable of Sanger, Rita Jean Daniel of
Denton; son, Ken Smith and his wife
Glenda of Valley View; eleven grandchil-
dren; eighteen great-grandchildren; nine
great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by sister, Beulah Webb and
brother, Boyd Fuller, Jr.;
two grandchildren and one
great great grandson.
A visitation was held
from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Sunday, July 29, 2018 at
the funeral home. The fu-
neral service followed at
10:00 AM Monday, July
30, 2018 in the chapel of

Karen Rene Crawford
March 22,1958 - July28,2018
Karen Rene Crawford, 60 of Denton passed away on
Saturday July 28, 2018 at Medical City Hospital Denton
after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in
Denton, Texas on March 22, 1958 to L. G. and Mary Lou
Sanders. She attended Faith Christian
Academy. She married Larry Crawford
on June 11, 1977 in Sanger, Texas. Larry
and Rene made their home in Denton for
41 years raising one son, Tyler Crawford.
Rene was in the dentistry field most
of her career, working as front desk ad-
ministrator for Dr. Brenda Jennings and
Tryon Dentistry for the last 12 years. She
was a valued employee and made many friends thru her pa-
tient responsibilities at the office.
Rene was a member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of
God Church since childhood and loved time spent in wor-
ship and fellowship with friends and family at the church.
She enjoyed camping, traveling, shopping and time spent
visiting friends. Rene treasured time spent hanging out with
Tyler watching favorite TV shows, sharing funny stories,
cuddling with their fur babies and visits to local restaurants
for delicious treats.
Rene is survived by son, Tyler Crawford of The Col-
ony, sister, Sherlyn White of Denton, Brothers and Sisters
In Law Bill & Margaret Crawford of Denton, Kenneth &
Martha Crawford of Weatherford, Richard & Judy Craw-
ford of DeSoto, Frank & Veta Ehrhorn of Aubrey, Dianne
Crawford of Sanger, Candice Faulk of Rockwall, Special
Life Long friend Monya Howard of Denton, Aunt Clau-
dine Elkins , nieces, nephews and special fur baby, Sugar
Bear.
She is preceded in death by parents L. G. and Mary
Lou Sanders, Husband, Larry Crawford and brother in law
Roger Crawford.
Visitation was held Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 6-8
P.M. at Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 1101
Audra Lane Denton, Texas
Funeral services were held at the church Wednesday
August 1, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors Randy Snow, Ter-
ry Johnson and Monya Howard officiating. Burial followed
at Cooper Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chad Howard,
Taylor White, Bill & Michael Crawford, Greg Walker, Paul
Grove and Rick Howard Honorary Pallbearer
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Faith Tab-
ernacle Assembly of God Church or The American Cancer
Society.
