awaiting result of the inquest in the
death of Frankie Jerome, bantam-
weight fighter who died yesterday
afternoon from an operation that
followed hia collapse in the ring with
Hnd Teyloe—of Toxru Haute. Ind.,
Friday night. Jerome's real name Is

AV. H. P. Faunce, who has filled
the presidency of Brown Univer-
sity for a quarter of a century.
The son of a minister, the Rev.
Daniel W. Faunee, he is a direct
descendant of Thomas Faunce, who
was ruling elder in Old Plymouth
Church for 40 years. Young Faunce
was titled, for college in the
schools of Concord, N. H, and
Lynn, Mass., and was graduated
from Brown in 1880. Later he
took a course at Newton Theolog-
ical Seminary, and was ordained in
1884. Fox a.. number uf years af-
ter he hart entered the ministry he
occupied the pulpit of the fash-
ionable Fifth Avenue Baptist-
church. New York City. Prior to
becoming president uf Brown Uni-
versity Dy. Faunce was an instruc-
tor at Harvard and at the summer
school of the University of Chicago.
