The Texoma Regional Blood
Center is in critical need for blood
donors.
"Our shelves are Completely
EMPTY!" a representative wrote
in a Facebook post this past week.
"We are now in critical need
of ALL blood types. As much
blood as we have brought in over
the last couple of weeks, it all
has went to saving lives around
Texomaland and all the local
hospitals."
Area residents are strongly
encouraged to donate blood as
soon as possible and help the
organization build their bank
back up. A single whole blood
donation can save as many as
three lives.
The center, located at 3911
Texoma Parkway in Sherman,
is open for donations Monday
through Friday 8 a.m. to 5:30
p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1
p.m.
Additionally, the center has
After enough residents
recently signed a petition for
allowing the sale of alcohol
in the City of Leonard, the
issue will now go to the
voters in May, alongside the

pass, it will allow for the
legal sale of beer and
wine for off-premises
consumption only, meaning
bear, malt liquor and wine
could be sold in grocery and
convenience stores located
within the City proper, but
not in restaurants, unless
otherwise already licensed to
do so.
The Leonard ISD School
Board of Trustees and
Leonard City Council will
both have elections in May
for places that are due to
expire in June.
Leonard ISD will have
four places up, which are
currently occupied by Jack
Bonds, Amy Boggs, Kevin
Brockus and Scott Blackerby.
