The city sanitary inspector reports to-
day that about two-thirds of the city
has been inspected so far and that he
expects to complete the inspection by
the middle of next week. He is now’
in the west end of the city and expects
to complete this district within a short
time as most of the homes here have
sewerage connections. The first of next
week will be sj>ent in specting tiie
outskirts of the city which will take
some time owing to the houses being
somewhat scaattered.
The inspector reports that a number
or unusually unsanitary homes have
been found so far as well as some very
clean premises.' The occupants of the
unsanitary homes are being told to
clean up their premises and the means

That was eight years ago, but in that short time Mr. Looney has for-;
gotten all about It. He is now asking the people of Texas to do for
him'what he said tt|en they shouldnot do for any man.
Mr. Looney’s purpose is to perpet uate the political machine he has
been building during the last four years. But the people of Texas will
not permit him to use the high office of Attorney General for such a
purpose.

Manin Jones spoke at Lakeview yes-
terday to a large and enthusiastic au-
dience. The occasion was that of a
fraternal picnic. The assurances given
him there show that he will carry that
section of Hall County. Mr. Jones will
• spend Sunday in Vernon and will pro-
p ceed to Dickens County for Monday.
Tuesday he will speak in Tulia. Plans
are under way for a large crowd of
boosters to go down to Tulia and ac-
company Mr. Jones back to Amarillo.
Herewith are quoted a few excerpts
from letters received at the Jones head-
quarters last week:
Tulia—“Marvin Jones will carry this
county, with Stevens second, and a close
race between Ellerd and Prescott for
last place."
Shamrock—“Wheeler county will be
strong and tn the Jones column. We are
glad to hear of the remarkable progress
that he is making In other sections of
the district."
Sanger, Denton county.—“Mr. Jones
is extremely popular with the voters
in this county. I have every assurance
that he will carry this county by a
large majority, and it is almost needless
for me to say that he will carry Cooke
county almost solid. With the support
of the western section of the district,
we cannot but believe that Jones will
be our next Congressman.’’
Vernon—“Wilbarger county will un-
doubtedly return a majority for Jones."
McLean—"Jones is running head and
hounds ahead of every other candidate
in this county.
Chillicothe—“We feel sure that you
will carry this box by a good majori-
ty.’’
Wichita Falls—"Jones will carry
Wichita county by a strong majority."
Chico, Wise county—“Jones will cer-
tainly carry this box, and the Stephens
men here admit that Jones will carry
Wise county.”
Munday, Knox County—“Jones
carry this box. Knox county will be In
the Jones column.”
Silverton—“Jones Is gaining here all
the time. Mep. that we never thought
would do anything are lining up and
talking. We are going to do something
wonderful for Jones down here on the
22nd.”
Bowie—“We have every reason to be-
lieve that Jones will receive a plurality
in Montague county. It seems that the
time is ripe for a change and Jones
is the only man that they are talking
about in Montague.”
Gainesville—“Cooke county is ready,
willing and able to return a large ma-
jority for Jones. We expecflilm to re-
ceive an Overwhelming vote in Cooke.”
The following if, clipped from the
Wichita Daily Tribune relative to Mr.
Jones and his outfbok:
*^Will A. Miller, Jr., chairman of the
board of trustees of the Texas Agri-
cultural and Mechanical College and
prominent citizen of Amarillo, who
stopped here en route to Austin, said:
“The unanimity of the endorsement
of this section of the Panhandle of Mar-
vin Jones is but a natqgal tribute to a
character whom those who know him
btst delight to honor. With a possible
exception my Information warrants me
in saying that Jones will carry all of
the Denver road counties of the
trict." \

Deafness Cannot Be Cured
by local applications, aa they cannot reach
the diseased portion of the ear. There Is
only one way to eure deafness, and. that is
by constitutional remedies Deafness is
caused by an inflamed condition of the mu-
cous lining of the Eustachian Tube. When
thia tube is inflamed you have a rumbling
sound or Imperfect hearing, and when It is
entirely closed. Deafness is the result, and
unless the inflammation can be taken out
and this tube restored to Its normal condi-
tion, hearing will be destroyed forever; nine
cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh,
which la nothing but an inflamed conditio*
of the mucous surfaces.
We will give One Hundred Dollars for aaf
case of Deafness (caused by "catarrh) that
cannot be cured by Hall's Catarrh Cura.
