PENN JACKSON
I would like to serve the peo-
ple of Johnson and Somervell
' i
Counties for another term as
your District Judge.
You are well aware of the
diligent and impartial manner
in which I conduct your court
and of my broad and success-
ful experience on the bench,
and if re-elected I promise you
the same high character of ser-
vice during the next four years,
which I expect to serve in full.
During my tenure as your
District Judge. I have adminis-
tered justice according to the
constitution and laws of this
state and nation to the very
best of my knowledge and abi-
lity; have stood for law and or-
der; have kept the court dock-
ets up to date; have tried the
cases in your court correctly,
so that very few reversals on
appeals have ever occurred,
have accorded all persons, rich
and poor, strong and weak,
black and white, whether friend
or not, the same fair and im-
partial trial; have shown sym-
pathy and leniency when ap-
propriate; have sought to aid
the unfortunate and the erring
to rehabilitation and higher
standards of living; and have
decided legal matters as the law
is, without fear of consequences
or special favor to anyone.
This I will continue to do.
The law is a complicated
science. Experience is the best
teacher. From my judicial ex-
perience as attested by the re-
cord, I hope I have demonstrat-
ed to you that I have the tech-
nical legal knowledge, human
understanding and maturity of
judgment necessary to continue
to make you a good and ac-
ceptable District Judge.
I am in full mental and physi-
cal vigor and good health, and
am not ready or old enough to
retire. 1 offer you proven and
successful experience as your
District Judge, and ask re-elec-
tion for another term.
Your vote and influence will
be appreciated at the Democra-
tic Primary on May 2. 1961.
Sincerely,
Penn J. Jackson
