“The man in the streets in
Israel does not have a feeling
of victory over a war that
has caused the death of thou-
sands on N th ides, and loss
and destruction of civilian
property,’’ the consul said.
’ They must remember that
all of these tragic losses could
have been prevented by the
cooperation of the great pow-
ers toward settling their prob-
lems and insuring the security
u>iv safety c-f Israel against a
circle cf warlike neighbors
on her borders.”
The speaker went on to say
that U. S. efforts in Isreal’s
behalf mu t be matched by
efforts of England, France,
Russia and •'ther great coun-
tries.
The speaker concluded by
saying that the great difficulty
is that the many Arab coun-
tries can never unite, a- they
must, for effective negotia-
tions. Israel must, therefore,
strive to win ‘hem one by one.
