started his week off on the
right foot, pitching a two hit-
ter to beat the Rangers 9-2,
the 17th. The Colts started
scoring in the second inning,
dropped out scoreless in the
third, then picked up more
points in the fourth. Willie
Martinez collected the only
extra base hit, slamming a
double.
In the second contest, Ro-
nald Richardson allowed the
Lions only one hit and the
Cubs were having a field day.
slamming in seven runs for
a 7-0 victory.
The Braves and the Mets
tangled Tuesday for a scor-
ing free-for-all, leaving the

of this season’s play will be

Dickinson has a strong look-
ing tram. Channelview, the
next contender, playing at Me-

of men and will probably have

The Lions came up with
three runs in the top of the
sixth inning of their battle
with the Phillies, only to see
the home club Phillies come
back with one in the last half
of the inning to tie the game
3-3.
In a make-up game Wed-
nesday, Teddy Hermann broke
a 1-1 tie with a two out homer
in the bottom of the sixth to
slip by the Phillies 2-1 and
chalk up a victory for the
Rangers.
In the Thursday opener,
Danny Guzman shut out the
Cubs 3-0 chalking one up for
the Colts. The Colts we re only
allowed three connections, but
made each hit count.
.Andy Lukens and Mark Pu-
cek teamed up to shut out the
Lions 7-0, the third Ranger
victory in a week. Pucek con-
tributed a double and Hermann
had a two-for-three.

Larry Holdorff of the Colts

game, allowing Andrew Ra-
mirez the only base in the
game. The bast came due to an
error in the fifth inning. The
Colts topped the Braves 10-0
in five innings of play.
Holdorff was not lagging
on the batting end. helping his
team along with a good pair of
