Electra. Mr.’McElroy,;died Sun-
day the 28th in a Knox City hos-
pital. Mr. McElroy was fatally
burned while Working on a lease
near Haskell. He was with the
Continental Oil Company. Fun-
eral rites were held here Tues-
day at the First Baptist church
and interment was in the Ver-
non Cemetery. He had been rear
ed in Vernon and its vicinity.
Mrs. McElroy and her daughters
are at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Stansel of this
City. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Cope-
land spent last weekend at
Georgetown, where their daugh-
ter, Asa, is attending college at
Southwestern. Mr. and Mrs.
Noble Stidham spent the week-
end of the 26th with their son,
Noble, Jr., student at Texas
Tech. Nice to have Bob Wright
home on a 30 day leave from his
duties in the U. S. Navy. Bob

The Electra Welfare Board
will meet Thursday afternoon at
2:30 in the Chamber of Com-
merce offices. C. P. Nichols, se-
cretary and Treasurer will give
the annual report of the year’s
business and Mrs. Allan Krohn
will report on the Fund Cam-
paign now just about finished.
All board members are urged to
attend the meeting. Mrs. Edith
Falls underwent surgery at Be-
thania Hospital Thursday morn-
ing. She came thru the ordeal in*
splendid shape and to those who
would like to send her cards and
letters, her room is 414, Be-
thania Hospital, Wichita Falls.
