met in a special called session,
Monday, January 8,' 2007, with all
members present, to “discuss and .
consider the cost of dirt work for
tractor pulL/rodeo arena” at the
new Festival Park grounds.
Mayor Owen opened the
meeting by noting that a man
(Dalton. Watson) from the
Desdemona/Ranger area who
“had agreed to send some scrapers
down here to move the dirt for our
project out here.”
“It’s my understanding,"
Owen said, “that the cost is
$10,000 to move this dirt. We can
get half of this money back, from
the park grant, so basically we'll
spend $5,000.”
After a brief discussion with
Monty Stewart and Heath
Matteson, who have been working
on the new tractor pull project, the
council voted unanimously to hire
Watson for the work.
