Anyone interested please contact Karen Wilkerson at 254-893-2065.
The City would like to have as many people involved in finish-

the community.

Having some time off before
Christmas from my primary
employment gave me the opportu-
nity to visit with some of the lunch
crowd at one of our local restau-
rants. I must have been sitting in
the famous chair of one of the great
writers here in De Leon. The group
of local businessmen and a retired
police chief from yester-year dis-
cussed some of the ideas of past
mayors and council members to
make De Leon a better place to
live.
The topic of an ordinance
came into the discussion from the
retired police chief and we made
that the discussion over lunch. The
problem discussed during most of
20 minutes was people turning left
in between city blocks downtown
to park in front of a business they
wish to visit. You wouldn't think
that this would be a problem in a
town as small as ours (until you
witness this action) but it really
does. They hold up the through
tr^f^f as they wait for the other
lane l<><f lear so they can make their
turn, then they have to back up and
park straight in the marked parking
area or have to wait for traffic to
clear again so they can get out of
two parking places and so forth. I
did witness a small traffic jam at
the signal light several months ago,
a car was waiting to turn left in
front of Weaver Drug and caused
several vehicles to have to sit again
