Mo. and was a resident of Al-
vin, Texas. He was a member
of Cross over to Christ commu-
nity Church and an employee of
CERT Operations RCB. Jeremy

ther, James L. Fleeman.

colon, brain, shoulder, and liver.
James entered Hospice care and
passed away peacefully in his
own home.
He was a Mason for over
twenty-five years and was Past
Master of Alvin Lodge #762
from 1997-98. He also obtained
the 32nd degree Scottish Rite.
James enjoyed life to the full-
est. When he owned Coon’s
Cycles he travelled to the Grand
Canyon, Four Comers, and
Roswell, N.M. After the shop
closed he enjoyed Cruising the
Coast in Biloxi, Miss, with his
brother Llewelyn in his one of a
kind Rat Rod. He was a constant
at car shows in the Pearland/Al-
vin/Kemah area with longtime
friend Scott Medve. James got
a kick out of people gathering
around his unique vehicle, often
leaving the more expensive cars
with less of an audience because
people flocked to see his one of a
kind artistic creation.
His name was known by the
Pearland Police Department be-
cause they often stopped him
in his Rat Rod trying to prove
it was illegal and unsafe for the
road. James knew the laws and
got pleasure out of proving to
the authorities his car was road
worthy. James was a gentle soul
full of stories and jokes. He took
care of his family and loved to
the fullest. A unique individual,
he was direct and told you like it
was. He will be missed.
We wish to thank Special An-
gels Audrey King, Roz Brown,
and hospice care workers sent
to the LaBauve family at this
difficult time. In lieu of flowers,
please make a donation to the
charity of your choice.
Visitation will be June 24,
2016 at Forest Park Lawndale
Funeral Home and Cemetery,
6900 Lawndale Avenue, Hous-
ton TX 77023 from to 5:00 p.m.
to 9:00 p.m. James’ last ride will
leave the funeral home June 25,
2016 at 9:00 a.m. for a service
at Manvel Biker Church, 20709
Hwy. 6, Manvel TX 71578 at
10:00 a.m. We will return to
Lawndale Cemetery for a Ma-
sonic graveside service. Fam-
ily and friends are welcome to
a gathering after the graveside
service.
Arrangements under the
direction of Forest Park

Cemetery.

Frank LeVoy, age 87, of Man-
vel, Texas passed away Tues-
day, June 14, 2016 at Clear
Lake Regional Medical Center,
Webster, Texas. Frank was bom
July 23, 1928 in Waxhaw, Mis-
sissippi. He served his country
in the United States Air Force
from 1947 to 1953. After mar-
rying Emily DelBello in May of
1949, the two of them lived in
Albuquerque, New Mexico and
then in Alaska before moving to
Manvel, Texas, where they spent
63 years together. Frank worked
as an accountant for Charter Oil
Company in Houston and served
his community as the Mayor of
Manvel from 1963-1977 and
again from 1979-1985. He will
be dearly missed by his family
and friends. Frank was preced-
ed in death by his wife, Emily
DelBello LeVoy; parents, Frank
and Ada LeVoy of Mississippi;
brother, Pete LeVoy; and sister,
Eunice Roberts of Mississippi.
Frank is survived by his
daughter, Linda Jackson and
July
O'
Tickfaw, Louisiana where he
helped milk fifty head of Hol-
stein cows twice a day. He rode
a horse to schools in Albany and
Notalbany, Louisiana and ran the
woods on his Cushman scooter.
He returned to Thibodaux
after a disagreement with his
grandfather and graduated from
Thibodaux Senior High in Spring
1967. James worked at a drap-
ery shop while in high school.
He travelled to Chicago, Illinois
and attended DeVry University.
He was drafted and returned to
Louisiana where he earned a
4F classification due to a spinal
deformity. He always laughed
the Armed Forces would take
a blind man before they would
take him. He was unable to serve
his country and he carried that
disappointment with him his en-
tire life.
After he was turned down for
military service, he was unable
to return to Chicago for school
because the semester had already
started. He worked with his dad
in gas plant construction, at-
tended two semesters at Nicholls
State University in Thibodaux
and purchased his own small
home near the university cam-
pus.
One day a man needed a help-
er to deliver a mobile home from
Thibodaux to El Paso, Texas.
James signed on to help and
the truck delivering the mobile
home broke down near Friend-
swood, Texas. He never made it
to El Paso, choosing a gas plant
job near FM 2351 and the Gulf
Freeway. He lived for a time on
Lindencrest Street in Houston,
Texas near Hobby Airport with
the Thomas and Rose Cooper
family. Through them he met and
married his first wife, Connie L.
Franks, on August 2, 1971.
James worked at the Continen-
tal Emsco Company for twelve
years and ran his own recycling/
tractor businesses most of his
adult life. From his time at Em-
sco he met lifetime friends Mack
and Debbie LaRoy.
He was hired by Phillips 66
as an Operator and he survived
the Phillips 66 Plant explosion
on October 23, 1989. Twenty-
three of his coworkers died that
day. James had traded shifts with
a coworker who was a victim
of the explosion. As part of the
fire rescue team he discovered
his coworker’s remains. James
eventually sought treatment
from Synergy, under the care of
Dr. Blanca Diez. While there he
met lifetime friends Audrey King
and Becky Eadl Stocker and Ed-
die Stocker. James’ first marriage
ended in divorce in 1990.
James married Ellen Claire
Rodrigue October 15, 1994.
He continued to work in his re-
cycling/tractor businesses and
opened Coon’s Cycles in 1994.
He lived his dream for nine years
until he had to close the shop for
economic reasons.
Through his marriage to El-
len, James leaves sisters-in-law
Kay M. Rodrigue and Nancy R.
Cook; nieces: Christine, Joanne,
Nancy and Yvonne. He also is
survived by nephew Grant, and
his wife, Mona. He leaves neph-
ew August Cook, currently serv-
ing in the U.S. Navy on the USS
John C Stennis.
James and Ellen enjoyed their
time together. They travelled to
Tennessee, Lake Tahoe, Yosem-
ite, San Francisco and Arkan-
sas. After Ellen’s breast cancer
treatment in 2006 they travelled
by train from Chicago, Illinois
to Portland, Oregon where they
rented a car and toured the state
including beautiful Crater Lake.
Ellen’s metastatic breast cancer
diagnosis in December 2014 was
handled, as always, as a couple.
James’ devotion to helping his
wife through her illness was ex-
traordinary.
Their last trips together were
to the San Antonio Riverwalk in
January and Charlotte, N.C. in
April 2016. James was able to
tour the NASCAR, Billy Gra-
ham, and the Richard Petty Mu-
seums before returning to Hous-
ton April 23, 2016. He became
ill on the trip home and was hos-
pitalized for three weeks where
he was diagnosed with Stage
4 metastatic lung cancer to the
