NVCC plans for next trip, offers other activities
Over the last few weeks, the folks at Na-
vidad Valley Community Connections have
been gearing up for their next tour by learn-
ing some interesting and unique facts about
Texas history. The next trip, scheduled for
June 22, is the fifth in the “Getting to Know
Texas” series.
Travelers will enjoy Houston points of
interest, starting with a cruise around the
25-mile-long Houston Ship Channel, the
busiest port in the United States related to
foreign tonnage. Next, they will have lunch
at Brady’s Landing, then on to a tour of the
San Jacinto Monument with a panoramic
view of Houston, and a production of “Texas
Forever” in the Jesse H. Jones Theatre located
at the base of the monument. The last stop on
the way home will be the new Courtyard and
Lone Oak Art Gallery in Columbus, where
members will be able to enjoy a wine menu
and full line of craft beers.
